Hughes would be a fool not to go with Walsh. I've been saying it for months. Regardless of what happens with their partnership down the road, I don't see how she couldn't go for it with a partner with Walsh's resume. I don't think it's a "no-brainer" situation, personally. The Pro's: FIVB points, increased visibility, and while Walsh is no longer the best player in the world (or even in the U.S), she is still a very skilled player and force at the net. The Con's: partnering with an aging, injury prone player who is currently at war with the only viable domestic tour in the U.S., and who has a very, um, difficult personality to deal with as a partner. Hughes is a big girl and can make her own decisions, but if she is interested in exploring options without Claes, in her shoes I would call April before Kerri. would April become the fulltime blocker? I feel like Walsh is so much more effective on the right and definitely would do best with a defender/right side player.

April is a very good blocker (and I think people tend to forget how tall she is). Actually, Hughes is an excellent blocker for her size, but at the FIVB level I don't think you'd want her split blocking.

How come only about two handfuls of us, if that, posts on these threads? Are we that annoying & no one wants to be associated with us? just curious! 🤔😂🤔

I would think that April would become full time blocker in this team. How tall is Sara? Sara has amazing hops, but is not a pro blocker. They could split in early rounds, ala April/Kerri. I dont see Sara as physically much inferior to Jen in blocking (Kessey not Fopma) The big problem would be how blocking full time would affect April's jump serve

Found this in search engine. I'm guessing these hops touch higher than fans might realize.

Already told my opinion on this. Sara should stick with Kelly and hire a good coach.

Ok....I'll just let it out of the bag...Here's what I'm hearing & I guess so are a lot of other people....It's Kerri & Sara for the 5 star events only. Sara & Kelli for AVP tourneys & 3 star & 4 star events. I think it's a plan to help Sara & Kelli out so they will not have to be in qualifiers next year. Not sure how this plan benefits KW at all since she will be in need of a full time partner herself. April,is going with Lauren and she already let that out of the bag. Can't imagine where this leaves Whitney & Lane...And can't see KW with either of them especially if she sits out AVP next year too..Also hearing that KW was going to play in some NVL events but that idea has been scraped.... All hear say of course...but reliable hear say
Geddy? Can you confirm any of this?

Let's clear the air once and for all so Kelly & Sara can stay focused and perform their job at the level we all love and respect from there growing capabilities as college student athletes with a job to finish.
1. College volleyball has held championships here in Gulf Shore now for 6 years running, and KW never thought anything about coming here to support and grow the sport. She came to grab positive media, spin her tails and play the role of the savior of the game with the only game plan that works fairly for the future of everyone concerned.
2. She reached out to a college player looking for a partner, which btw, is not the only top level pro to do so, the others have been more discrete, and hence less disruptive toward the minds and focus of these great college pair.
3. Because she couldn't wait for a more compassionate and professional timeframe to do her dirty work, college athletes, coaches and parents have had to rally around the kids to stop the rumor mill in their minds so they can focus on a national championship run.
4. This distraction has only strengthened the resolve of Kelly & Sara, deepened then bond as partners, and completely locked KW out of ever having a chance to play with either.
So her EST, Tony Robbins, positive think and dream what you seek mantra has backfired this time. KW didn't Tony or Michael teach you about the "mind filter" ?
There will be no splitting of Sara in half between the blockers for different events. ( some recent fantasy kw dreamed up last night because she realized her dream partner was not going to budge.)
Kelly & Sara already had a deep summer scheduled together, heading off the Rio after the USAV pairs championship.
The college kids are no dummies, they have sought Sage advise from those who know the pro game best, including multiple Olympians, gold medalist, and other professionals with direct knowledge of what it's like to partner, play, do business with or deal with KW or CJ.
Kat's out of the bag and KW has painted herself into a corner without a new partner.
Best wishes to Kelly and Sara. So sorry you fine young athletes and aspiring future pros had to endure this distraction during your senior stretch run.
I wonder if the Jennings and "the agent" know how protective Mr. Hughes is of his kids? I'm guessing they do not, because if they think he's 6'6" 250lbs of sunshine or a pushover or happy about the recents distractions, rumors and lies, they are in for a very rude awakening down the near road, " from what I have heard ".
Now there's a rumor for you to digest kw, cj & la.

Down the line.....I haven't heard Kerri say anything regarding partnering with Sara. These were just rumors. The only thing I heard yesterday was her saying that Sara & Kelli are the future of this sport. Again, what i heard was just hearsay but these sources are usually accurate.

From my experience on this board, when it comes to things about Hughes, downtheline is usually accurate.
I disagree with those who think Hughes should play with Walsh or with April. Grinding it out in a few FIVB qualifiers with Claes is not that big a deal and I suspect they'll have enough points for the main draw relatively quickly. Claes is good now, has plenty of upside and also isn't a forty year old who has had three shoulder surgeries. If it turns out Claes is not the ticket to Tokyo, there is plenty of time to make a partner switch when qualifying begins. Stay out of the drama/confusion for this first year and see how it goes.
If Kerri can't get Hughes to play, then WTF is she going to do?

If she is playing with Sara in 5s its a plan to help Kerri, just like everything else she does. If you are not sure how this plan benefits Kerri, then your ability to think critically is even lower than the average 9 year old KW fan
