Ok....I'll just let it out of the bag...Here's what I'm hearing & I guess so are a lot of other people....It's Kerri & Sara for the 5 star events only. Sara & Kelli for AVP tourneys & 3 star & 4 star events. I think it's a plan to help Sara & Kelli out so they will not have to be in qualifiers next year. Not sure how this plan benefits KW at all since she will be in need of a full time partner herself. April,is going with Lauren and she already let that out of the bag. Can't imagine where this leaves Whitney & Lane...And can't see KW with either of them especially if she sits out AVP next year too..Also hearing that KW was going to play in some NVL events but that idea has been scraped.... All hear say of course...but reliable hear say Geddy? Can you confirm any of this? A plan to help Kelli and Sara? Could you be more credulous? Kerri doesnt want to play 3 and 4 stars. If she is playing with Sara in 5s its a plan to help Kerri, just like everything else she does. If you are not sure how this plan benefits Kerri, then your ability to think critically is even lower than the average 9 year old KW fan Guest2...I'll take that as a compliment. How I wish I were 9 again!!!😜😜😜

From my experience on this board, when it comes to things about Hughes, downtheline is usually accurate. I disagree with those who think Hughes should play with Walsh or with April. Grinding it out in a few FIVB qualifiers with Claes is not that big a deal and I suspect they'll have enough points for the main draw relatively quickly. Claes is good now, has plenty of upside and also isn't a forty year old who has had three shoulder surgeries. If it turns out Claes is not the ticket to Tokyo, there is plenty of time to make a partner switch when qualifying begins. Stay out of the drama/confusion for this first year and see how it goes. If Kerri can't get Hughes to play, then WTF is she going to do? Praying to God its not Pavlik!!!

If Kerri can't get Hughes to play, then WTF is she going to do? This makes sense if you presuppose: 1) Prize money is not a consideration. Kelli is not close to the player April or Kerri is right now. Take a look at the video of her playing with Reeves in Ft. Lauderdale or against the Brazilians last year. Between points and ability, either April or Kerri is worth two levels a week in finishes. Thats a lot of money to leave on the table. Maybe it the right choice if the only consideration is the Olympics in four years, but if prize money and sponsorsips are a concern, April or Kerri are better choices. 2) That Claes/Hughes qualify every time. Take a look at last year's qualifiers. There are some excellent teams there. Look at this weekend on the AVP where Priddy/Schalk and Pavan/Salgado both lost in the round before the play in game. A single elim qualifier against teams you have never seen is a dodgy proposition For example Duda was in the qualifier last year at an Open she eventually won. Marie and Lilliane were in that same quali. Chantal and Sude were also in that qualifier. Claes/Hughes would not be favorites against any of those teams. 3) That high level experience is irrelevant. Playing with April or Kerri, Sara will consistently play elimination games against top teams where the pressure is on Sara to side out. With Kelli? Not nearly as often. Claes/Hughes will spend a lot of time scrapping for 9ths and 7ths against other midlevel teams, mostly while Kelli is getting served

How much prize money could Hughes win on the AVP, on a down AVP? Because that's what she's sacrificing playing with Walsh. Not to mention hoping and praying Walsh doesn't get hurt. Again.

I said with Walsh or April but even if its only Kerri - injuries aside, thats a good point - what she would get for winning all the NVLs plus being in the WSOBV is probably close to what she and Kelli would get on the AVP, where you have to figure April gets most of the wins.

Haze...No...Downtheline says Kerri tried to get Sara, but she is staying with Kelly.... So she was recruiting her while she was playing in her championships? Wow. Classy.

Supposedly the talk. But you know how people like to talk. Let's just see who KWJ comes up with for a partner. Please, don't let it be Pavlik.

Anyone think maybe Hughes downplayed the interest in Walsh to Claes due to the NCAA championship on the line? Just a thought...

I don't think so...Like I said...Most likely Sara has a lot of people in her ear giving her advice & so on. Would it be a bad thing to go with Walsh & her coaches for a couple of years? Probably not....But a lot of people are looking at how much Kerri realistically has left in the tank. Yes, you'd want to think she has 4 more years left on that shoulder, but."..........Another thought a lot of people have is this refusal to sign this contract is a power move. Yes, she wants to see this sport grow, but maybe a part of her wants to see how far up,business wise she can go in this sport...I've always said this and will continue to say that Kerri is not dumb, she also has many smart, hate to use the word powerful, but I will people around her. People that have a lot more money than Donald Sun or at least just as much & I'm not talking about Leonard Armato. Money talks & in Beach Volleyball it speaks volumes...
