It's listed on the BVBINFO site, and only on the map on thenvl.com site.
I'm a little confused.
Nothing on social media either.
Is this still a go?
anyone signed up for this?

Its an NVL Rize. Some people are still making the trip, but the first NVL even is Long Beach.

I wouldn't be surprised if this NVL Rize event fell through as well. . It's at the Sports Garden here in DFW and 692 is having a girl's casual Friday night tournament at that time.

Well, the NVL was probably banking on a mass exodus from the AVP when players got fed up and left. That did not happen in the slightest. All they got was Walsh-Jennings, who still doesn't have a partner. Its a bit hard to see how they could get more events during this year just by banking on one player.

Just because players played in the 1st AVP doesn't mean they can't play NVL. If they do, they just can't go back to the AVP.

Agree, but when the 1 player is one of the biggest names in sand vb, if she does decide to play some NVL tournaments there will be a decent amount of local interest wherever they have the tournament by local sponsers and fans from the area (younger VB players for sure)....more so than just a normal event. Sponsors and fans will show up for NAME players and she is one of the biggest in the sport.
Guess the big ? is 1) Is the NVL financially solvent 2) Can they handle the increase in prize $ 3) Was this all HUGE speculation/hope that they could lure some bigger names to their circuit and thus pay the increased prize $ 4) Were they banking on a mass exodus? Personal thought is maybe but even if they were, they had to think that wasn't going to change their $ position much. *Let's say there was a 8 player defection but they were Walsh-Jennings, Summer, Brooke, Billy Kolinskie (sp?) (the 4 that have not signed new avp contract) and 4 others...let's say all mid level teams (8-14 range)...so Drost, Bomgrens, Flint/Larsen. I can't imagine that the NVL execs are thinking...game changer out of anyone on that list outside of Walsh-Jennings. No one outside of Walsh-Jennings, Dallhauser....and a far far off distant 3rd/4th Patterson/A.Ross was going to bring more eyes and sponsors to their current set-up.
Again, I think Walsh-Jennings/Dalhausser were the only potential game changers for the NVL. IF they get Walsh-Jennings for some events, then I think they would take that all day every day for the next few years and try to capitalize on marketing around her, getting more sponsors, hope to add more prize $, hope to peel off a few more players here and there from AVP.
If #3 is true and Walsh Jennings does not play NVL, could be tough times for NVL unless they got more sponsors to off-set higher prize $.
Kind of unfortunate really as it seems that both leagues are in a weak financial position and risk hurting their own financial status/brand by not at least having an amiable relationship with the other.
NVL- hard to see this continuing long-term without strong commitment from the top or more sponsorship fundraising. Once either goes...could be done AVP- will be interesting to see how AVP can handle a Walsh-Jennings(less) tour. Granted she hasn't played much but obviously AVP paid her a good amount of $$ to be the face of VB and I am sure sold sponsorships based off of that. Who will be able to step in and fill that void? Guessing if I was P. Dalhausser, I would be asking for a pay increase in whatever "deal" AVP has him on ala Walsh-Jennings as he is probably the biggest name known to general public on tour now.
Sure AVP is hoping that Dalhausser keeps playing 4 more years as if they lost both Walsh-Jennings and Dalhausser (say to retirement)...oy

is it a fact that she doesn't currently have a partner? That's what she said on national TV. Your choice whether you believe her.
