if this is the case, I commend KW....The last person I would have given my spot to is Hochever. Anyone that can badmonth Kerri to a couple of young Kerri fans at an AVP tourney is not very cool or intelligent in my book. Please elaborate Yes please do.

I think guest meant that Walsh did not withdraw from the World Championships earlier, as that would give the spot to an alternate team. if this is the case, I commend KW....The last person I would have given my spot to is Hochever. A couple of friends were sitting in stadium on Friday watching a match. A couple with their two young daughters were sitting near my two friends. Brittany was sitting a few rows down from them with a couple of other Ladies. One of the girls yelled to Britt if she could get an autograph. Britt was happy to oblige. The girls went and she signed one of their volleyballs and one girl told Britt that she she was a great player. She said she wished that Kerri was playing too so she could get her autograph on the ball too. Britt told the girl not to expect Kerri back on the AVP. That this tour was for classy players & Kerri stance with the AVP was selfish. Was loud enough that many around them heard the exchange. The Girls were visibly upset. It went as far as the girls Dad confronting Britt after the match was over and told her that no matter what her opinion of Kerri or the situation was, it was not her place to express them to the girls. My Friends heard the whole thing... My opinion of Hochever has changed immensely after I heard this. Talk about classless. Yes Mr. sun...If this is one of your new faces of the AVP on the women's side, please go back to the drawing board.

Donny - With all due respect to volleyball fans, players, and AVP staff and ownership, must you always assign every perceived negative about the sport of beach volleyball to Donald Sun ? Perhaps this situation did occur, perhaps it happened as described, regardless, how can you relate this to Donald Sun and the AVP. If this did happen, it's about one person and one person only, not the AVP. As we all witness it every weekend, the professionals on the AVP talk to thousands of fans, sign thousands of autographs and do many appearances in all cities they compete, yet I don't see you give credit to the AVP for these good deeds
I am not asking you to credit AVP for their good acts, but by the same token, don't blame the AVP for acts they have no control over either ...

Nah, the spot was secure regardless of the outcome in Olsztyn. I think guest meant that Walsh did not withdraw from the World Championships earlier, as that would give the spot to an alternate team. I read this in an article earlier today: Their spot was secured through NORCECA qualification, not through FIVB tour points. That means regardless, the spot goes to the country (USA). As long as the player is accredited by the country, they can represent at World Champs. On the Reserves list, Em Day and Brit would have been the second list.

WOW During AVP NYC, when someone getting autographs asked April Ross why she wasn't playing with Kerri, her response was just "Yeah, I'm playing with Lauren now." I was right next to April, so I said "Well, I'm still watching beach volleyball for you "

Lefty...In this contract that Brit signed, I am sure the code of conduct that the AVP expects from its players is spelled out. I haven't seen the contract, but I am assuming it doesnt state to badmouth Kerri to 2 Young fans of hers at of their events. Also...Two posters asked me to elaborate...So I did! Let me add one other thing...Yes. This does affect the AVP if in fact they lose that Family of 4 and if not more depending on how other people took that exchange at their events. On a a positive note...Was extremely happy that Hermosa was an awesome success!! I do credit Donald Sun for that....

So I wonder whether Nicole could have given up her spot to Em and Brit? Nicole seemed to have no interest in playing FIVB before Kerri called. Does she intend to keep playing FIVB with Em or someone else besides Kerri? If not, why not allow the team who needs the points the chance? Or maybe the reported hard feelings between Kerri and Brit came into play here. I also wonder what this means for Em and Brit going forward.

Brit's Instagram story: "some interesting things transpired for our team this weekend. Some of you might or might not know, but Em Day is off to World Champs today."

Why would Nicole play? $$$$ A couple of reasons....Nicole needs points...Kerri already has points....Nicole expects Kerri to be back in 2018 based on past history....What better way to start building points than with someone like Emily who she has the potential to do well with until & if Kerri returns. Emily & Brit are doing well though....But not good enough on FIVB...It's anyone's tourney to win on the women's side on the AVP every week. Even with April in the field, she looks vulnerable. Maybe it's the toe, but her & Lauren look very shaky to me....PS..At least Em appears bummed about Kerris situation.

Its an interesting article "It's pretty tough to have to go to Poland when you could be at home in your own bed" cry me a river Phil. Phil mentions his belief that the World Tour events lose money. I don't know if thats true but for the big ones I don't see how it can not be. I think that may be part of the FIVB model though, seeking out locations that think they get exposure etc. from running events and so don't mind losing money (like cities that build stadiums for pro teams)
