Gini Ullery, coach at Fordham. She thinks Texas is #1. She thinks Oregon is #15. is there a thumb down button

I'm surprised they even have polls this early, let alone that people worry about them. I know there's no money for it, but volleyball (and other college sports) need a real preseason. At this point teams have been together for two weeks, many (including some major players) have new coaches, virtually everyone has new players in key positions, everyone has injuries- most of them minor training camp injuries that wouldn't keep them out in November, everyone's still figuring out a system, some teams haven't even played a meaningful match yet, while others have been off in Gainesville beating each other to a pulp.

i think they dropped Texas too low.... dont' necessarily agree with their ranking... Lot's of those teams Ceighton, WI, MINN.... not even the slightest bit tested yet... so much to change in coming weeks. Didn't Creighton beat Washington in Seattle? That's funny...I had the same exact dream!

Not sure how this differs from fb and bb and their polls and the sisters of the poor they play early, interrupting the start of televised volleyball late in the season.

The big difference in the VB world is two matches in one day, something that does not happen ever again -- in the major conferences.

Put Creighton in there....... i dunno how'd they fare, WI and MN.... i dunno. Lot's of good teams this year. will be a real fun season... race looks wide open right now...

How are Creighton, Wisconsin and Minnesota "not even the slightest bit tested yet"? SMH. We would all be well served to put this poster on ignore and stop quoting his bs. He is really off the rails from talking about a player's mental health issues, to saying refs were paid off in the Tx/Oregon match, etc. Let's stop feeding the troll. LOL!!!! I love you Texas people!!!! too much fun!!! Like my message to you a bit ago...(since you PM and harass me daily) ......... I WAS KIDDING about paid ref's, you people are such snowflakes... touchy touchy sensitive sensitive. have a little fun............ i sometimes go fishing in the TEXAS threads........... i am what makes this forum FUN. its called good ole'Texas trolling.......... and everyone wants to do it.... i just have enough courage to... I mean, let's keep it real here......... there are quite a few controversial "game winning" calls for TEXAS..... but i'm not mad, they usually fall short of the title every year.... so........... it evens out on its own.... no biggie....

Just ironic because I read something like, "UW reached the Elite Eight, and returns PAC POY and 2nd Team AA Setter, and loses no-one ..." about 100 times during the off season. Now they lose and we get excuses about a new line-up. That's why we need this: *Hey, I never claimed UW would have beaten Creighton, even with Jones in the line-up. I just think they'll be better with her than without her, and once the new lineup settles in. But, heck, I don't even know if UW will finish in the top six in the Pac-12, let alone in the nation - Stanford, Oregon, Utah, UCLA, WSU, and USC are ALL looking STACKED.

The big difference in the VB world is two matches in one day, something that does not happen ever again -- in the major conferences. major conference teams just aren't as tough as the midmajors. They can't handle multiple matches in a day like the others can.

How are the coaches selected for these polls? Universities all have their own hiring procedures, but I think in most cases the AD has the final say.

Texas A&M will be playing #1 3 4 5 and 6 teams in the coming weeks to give a gauge against a common opponent along with Missouri and Lipscomb
Looking forward to seeing some of these better teams play in person and how the Aggies improve over the team
