That isn't how it panned out. Neither program got their first choice. lol - I don't know about that who was their first choice, Russ Rose? if a first choice doesn't apply, it's not a first choice, in fact what you describe as a first choice might have been a non-choice LB might have wanted Misty, but if the timing wasn't right, that doesn't make her a real first choice - I get skeptical about names that sometimes get thrown around when openings pop up I wasn't talking about Misty. Anyone who knows her knew that she was pregnant and wasn't leaving Long Beach City. Maybe you didn't know that at the time. But, enough highjacking of this thread. If you want to talk about all the ways the Big West sucks, feel free to start a new thread.

Marquette losing to Villanova opens the door for Creighton to win regular season Big East Championship if they can win @ Marquette. That match is @creighton but conference tourney is @marquette.

Great analysis. Two points where I differ... 1) I think it's possible for Kentucky to host without beating Florida again. 2) Creighton won't host if Marquette does go on to win the Big East, nor would they deserve to. That said, I think there's a chance Marquette could sweep Creighton and Creighton still wins the conference by being more consistent against everyone else. But Marquette has the big advantage in the conference tourney by playing at home. For point #1 I meant host a regional. Like a top 4 seed for Kentucky. Gotcha. I agree with you on that. I was talking about hosting a subregional.

And because of that, outside of Conference USA, no chance of bid thieves this year, which means the tournament will be heavily tilted toward the P5 and upper mid-major conferences that traditionally get multiple bids. No chance, eh? Creighton and Marquette both looked VERY vulnerable to BE tourney upsets this past weekend... With Creighton's defensive inconsistencies it wouldn't be a shock to see them upset by Nova or Butler. But IMO the only team capable of beating Marquette at Marquette is Creighton. It's a potentially two-bid league with Creighton and Marquette. Hence, no thief.

Also, do not count out Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, and yes, even Tom Black's Georgia. The SEC is starting to get wild, and if anyone can catch UF/UK off guard, those tesms could make significant strides. All are within striking distance

Things are getting interesting with Missouri and Texas A&M continuing to slide.
