Is it set at 16 make it or can that number very? It's been 18 for the past few years.

I suspect Stanford will do fine as far as awards, despite a conspicuous lack of player of the week recognition, but I'd like to put in a plug for McClure for the freshman team. She's gotten little notice on this team, but has been a rock as far as passing and defense all year and has come on strong with her hitting towards the end of the season. With any luck she'll grow 4 or 5 inches in the offseason. Agreed, her defense is better then Keefes and she hits more aggressively I really enjoy watching her play. Very coachable, and gives the Card a twist. Don't forget her roll shot

When will the actual conference awards be announced? Tues? It's probably the same schedule as last year.

I was just checking on this, noticed you beat me to it. Yeah, last year PAC-12 announced the awards on the Monday following the NCAA brackets release. I wonder what is slowing them up this year?

No idea. I noticed they released their usual POW announcement today, so maybe they're pushing back the big award announcement a day or two so as not to steal the POW thunder?

Also really happy for Okaro, she did everything she could for ASU in her senior season.

“She is also just the second player in Conference history, and first in 27 years, to be named the league’s player of the year a season after being selected the freshman of the year. The last time that occurred was when former Cardinal Bev Oden was tabbed the freshman of the year in 1989 then followed up with a player-of-the-year outing in 1990.” Congrats to Kathryn Plummer! A few years ago I wouldn’t have predicted she would be the POY as an OH or as a sophomore. Could also be AVCA FOY and POY in consecutive years

From the Pac-12 website: Hentz became the 18th player in Stanford history to record 1,000 wins on Nov. 16 after setting a program rookie record with 630 total digs last season.
I cannot understand why Hentz didn't sweep all the awards. If you record 1,000 wins after less than two seasons of work, that is phenomenal.

Whoa.
I'm shocked that Sponcil only got HM. No love for the one-and-done I guess.
Also surprised Scambray was left off. I'm not shocked that Schwan got it by the unofficial grandfathering clause, but Scambray had the better season IMHO.
Mildly surprised that Gates would be more deserving than Alade. Alade had a much higher hitting % and a lot more blocks. But Gates was higher in kps.

I'm thrilled with all these choices.
According to the article, Morgan Hentz has 1000 wins. That is impressive. How many coaches have that many?

Kinda/sorta hidden within all of this was Meghan McClure being named to the "All-frosh" team - Great for her; the improvement in her game has been most gratifying/fantastic!
