I'm thinking her height holds her back from getting looks at a starting OH position from bigger schools, perhaps. I think she's about 5'9"? (I may be misremembering.) I'm just confused that she went all the way to North Dakota. Several smaller east coast schools could have used her. She is a really good all around player. She reminds me of the now graduated Leah Hardeman of CCU North Dakota isn't a bad volleyball school, and there is a good fan base. She will be coming from Uconn, which was 197th in averaging 324 people per game, to UND which was 34th in avg attendance, and averaged 1,400 per game. UND was 30-8 last year, 26-10 in 2016, 21-13 in 2015, 26-9 in 2014, and 22-11 in 2013. It's a good program, and there is actually good support from the community.

Looks like Emily Baptista is not leaving Pacific for Duke but for the University of Southern California.

Is the above list updated? I believe multiple underclassman at North Dakota are no longer on the 2018 roster.

Not sure if she is still headed to Duke or joining Skylar Wine at North Carolina but Andie Shelton posted this morning that she was starting a road trip to North Carolina.

Didn’t qualify hmmm qualify for USC but not Duke? interesting. Not sure if Baptista is Pac-12 all conference quality, but she could have made splashes in the ACC.

There are plenty in the know it all crowd on here who dispute this ... but this is another example of a few schools (Stanford, Northwestern & DUKE) have a higher entry standard than most of the p5 that just use the NCAA minimum (or close). The standard for entrance into Duke for athletes is higher than USC or most other high academic P5’s. This is just more proof! Caveat: this excludes basketball and football...they get many exemptions per the Duke folks!

USC's admission standards for athletes are literally the bare minimum. I don't mind

Frankly, I think standards by sport is even worse, especially for Basketball where you don't even need that many players to field a team. I just don't think an institution can stand on a pedestal and claim higher academic standards for student athletes if they exempt the sports that make money from such standards. Makes them look like a hypocrite.

Dook could stand to hand out a few more football exemptions, although their Quick Lane Bowl win last year against N. Ill. was impressive.

If this was the case, we’d be getting 4 and 5 star recruits, but we don’t. Duke has to be overly selective when recruiting football, which in some ways hinders them

Shannon Mikesky (setter) is no longer listed on Alabama’s roster and Maddi Penrod (middle blocker) is no longer on Mississippi State’s roster
