On the bright side it wasn't quite as bad as last year's opener vs Illinois. That statement says it all in regard to the state of the Nebraska football program. It's not good.

Reposting from the beginning of last season. The situation has not improved. I believe Frost is now 15-30 (.333) at Nebraska.

I couldn’t watch, it’s too depressing but, we gave him one more season to turn things around and I think he deserves that. In the meantime chronic bitchers will continue to chronically bitch.

Frost's buyout amount drops in half after October 1, and barring a huge run (like beating a Top 10 Oklahoma squad in a few weeks), Alberts might have to drop the hammer by around the Illinois game at the end of October. Please don’t fire Frost until they play Wisconsin. Please!!!

His buyout drops from $15 million to $7.5 million on October 1, so he will likely be fired after the Indiana game on the same day. There's no real reason not to wait a month and save $7.5 million in the process.

In the meantime chronic bitchers will continue to chronically bitch. *looks at the list of threads in Off the Net and sees that over half of them are chronic bitchfests by a single individual* if only sports fans cared as much for their country winning as they do their teams but...China is no problem folks...they are perfectly fine...but fire Scott Frost because he can't win games? Sounds like some f-upped people with idiot priorities.

I bet they unofficially start their coaching search this week.

I'm not sure that would be enough at this point. That onside kick was fireable offense on its own. I guess if he wins his next four games (which all look pretty winnable, apart from Oklahoma), maybe they hold off on firing him until later in the season.

I believe it was the great poet Wayne Campbell who put it thusly:
"...Chyeaaa! And monkeys might fly out of my butt!"

Wow, what a day yesterday. About 100 lettermen were waiting to surprise Scott Frost at the Press Conference, chokes me up just thinking about it. It couldn't be a more natural fit, textbook. Scott Frost is going to lead Nebraska to where we once were. He was born here, he played here, he knows the culture, his passion is palpable, and he has a clear vision. So exciting to watch unfold. Not intending to pick on you in any way, but five years sure has made a difference in perspective.
