We have lost our way. I think leadership is lacking this year. We miss Kelly Hunter in more ways than one. We’re a young team. I think we’ll be improved next year but the year after that (2020) should be our year to shine. The whole 2019 team will be returning in 2020. That’s the year to be pointing to and the final four is in Omaha too Wasn’t this year supposed to be ya’lls time to shine?

Not to mention their two OHS were 1 and 2 recruits, a top ten middle and setter, an opp who was top 20 and a libero who was ranked as well. Nebraska had the potential to win it all, but they havent been playing like it as of late

Nebraska had the potential to win it all, but they havent been playing like it as of late TWO top 10 middles. Definitely have the potential to win it all if Foecke goes off again during tournament time, but I agree, they’re definitely underperforming.

This team has the talent to rival nearly anyone. Really think its the setter, havent been impressed with hames. She shows potential, but She isnt anywhere near hunter

I'm sorry did I hallucinate or did they not hoist the trophy 2 of the past 3 years? Time to shine? They've been shining. Few road bumps doesn't mean you crash your car.

You haven't been relevant in how long and you most likely won't even be in the tournament this year. Why does it matter what their rankings were in HS??? The potential hasn't gone anywhere. You're comparing Hames, a true freshman who was in high school earlier this year, to a 2x national champion who set Nebraska to 3 straight FF's and lost a total of like 8 games during her career. Obviously she's not Hunter.

Sun and sweet need to work on making some good shots. Sun sends the ball over right to where the defenders are standing.... she has got to read the defense better, but her serve receive has been pretty good, but why cant they use her in the pipe?

I hate posters who tear someone down or say their team cant ge criticized by someone from another team based on that teams performance. Its childish. Their HS rankings have everythinf to fo with this because a team with that much talent, should be doing alot better. Is nebraska awful? Of course not. Me saying they can win it all proves rhat. But has their play been less than stellar as of late? Yes. And imo its because the setting is less than ideal. Their are alot of freshman who werent as hyped as hames making big impacts. Now her play in the back row is very good, but she doed have alot to work on.

That’s the year to be pointing to and the final four is in Omaha too I think it's also important to accept that maybe being a top 5 team year in and year out is unrealistic. The talent is there and they still have potential, they're just losing the close games. They're not getting blown out and they're still a top 10 team. Just because they may not bring home a B1G or national championship doesn't mean it isn't still a successful year with some highlights. They haven't lost to anyone outside of the top 8 except Florida. They've gone 5 sets in 2 of them and they are still the only B1G team to take a set off Minnesota and have done so twice. They are right there in all of these games and if they can make a few adjustments they would be winning instead of losing. I'm not making excuses for them because they are still below those teams, my point is just that it is not by much. They still have some time and they've still done some really good things. Stanford in 2015 lost in the second round. PSU didn't get past the Sweet 16 for 2 straight years after taking the title in 2014. To expect a FF appearance and national championship year in and year out is only setting yourself up for disappointment. November hasn't even started. Still a long ways to go. Talking about 2019 and 2020 isn't fair to Mikaela Foecke and Kenzie Maloney, two girls that have helped take the Huskers to some serious peaks over the past 3 years. How spoiled we are when "losing our way" is still ranked in the top 10... Yes! Peering in from the outside, (but still within the B1G), it's clear that Nebraska has hit a rough patch. No doubt, though, that the Husker program remains nationally respected. It is difficult to imagine that Cook won't make adjustments, and that your talent won't start shining again. And yes, celebrate that you've had the great pleasure of Foecke and Maloney. Sorry to sound preachy and platitude-y; you are a perennial power, Nebraska, but that sets up a crisis of expectations when you perform as mere mortals. Please, continue to support your team, trust your coach, and enjoy the good days ahead. They're coming. And let the rest of us enjoy competing with you now and then!

Now her play in the back row is very good, but she doed have alot to work on. Childish huh? I find it quite perplexing why you felt the need to come on to the Nebraska Volleyball page just to point out what the players' ranking were coming out of HS, and using past tense in regards to their talent in attempt to make them sound like a season failure. To think that rankings in HS always correlate with on court success in college is asinine. Adana Rollins will most likely be NFOY when she was ranked like 30th should be enough for you to laugh at your claim. I also can't stand when all these excuses are made for why Nebraska is losing, pointing out leadership issues, team chemistry, etc. Maybe teams like Illinois and Minnesota are just better. Can't that just be the reason? Wisconsin and PSU were 5 set losses on the road-not exactly something to bash the talent or call their play less than stellar. Most of these sets are deuce sets and again, the B1G is a LOADED conference. Do they have areas they can work on? Yeah, so does Stanford and BYU. Obviously Hames has a lot to work on. What freshman setter hasn't? I have no problem with criticism of Nebraska. It's been easy to do this year. Just don't bring up HS rankings or how we have the top OH duo according to what they did in HS and last year's top setter or that they're underachieving with their talent, etc. Give teams like PSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois credit where it's due. Illinois was phenomenal in Lincoln the other night. And Minny is just flat out a machine. Hate is also a strong word.

Kelly Hunter took over in her third year as a redshirt sophomore. I know Nicklin Hames was a top recruit, but come on. Growing pains were expected. Are Nebraska fans happy right now? Of course not. Would we like to have won more games? Yeah, like all of them. Is this a shocking season so far? Not to me. Not to most other people I've talked to. We might have expected more, but knew it could be less and could be worse than it is. This year's Nebraska team has wins over Oregon, Creighton, Michigan, and Illinois. Outscored Penn State in a five-set road loss. And taken the only two sets off Minnesota in conference play. A team that swept Penn State, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Maybe have a little perspective. Just a thought.

Sun struggled on the pipe earlier this year because she kept stepping on the 10-foot line, and officials noticed.

You'd think they would give this award to a UNL researcher who created a mulit-hybrid planting scheme that increased corn bushel yield 5 to 8 per acre. This shows you how important volleyball is in Nebraska. And, BTW, they couldn't give it to Scott Frost (at least this year).
