I remember feeling this way but I must be getting old. If we are not winning we are going to take our ball and go home.
A realistic view- Nebraska can hang with anyone in the top ten and with a few tweaks they just might take it all. Someone complained about Cook. I use to do that often but then I realized he is far far more genius than I ever hoped to be concerning volleyball so....... Nicklin is not Kelly Hunter in her senior year but Kelly Hunter wasn't the Kelly Hunter until her senior season either. Watching Poulter reminded me just how much a great setter can impact a team when they have experience. Of course they are struggling. They had it made with the perfect passing and setting in 2017 and that is the reason we steamrolled.

I mentioned before the season started that, even with all the great talent coming in, Nebraska would feel the loss of both Kelly Hunter and Annika. Hunter's absence is very obvious, but don't underestimate Annika's absence too, both passing and on back row attacks. It takes time and experience playing together to play consistently great volleyball. There are flashes of great play now, but the consistency is missing. And that's why the quality teams (not coincidentally with experienced setters) are beating Nebraska.
The talent is there. Patience.

Passing and setting has been below what we had last year but that should be expected. Replacing Anni, and Kelly was/is a tall order. It will take time. Kelly's leadership especially is missed when we are attempting to finish off the set.

Just wondering. When was the last time Nebraska had 5 losses in conference, much less 7-5? The smart aleck in me wants to respond, "The last time we played six top ten teams in nine matches." But the factual answer is 2012, when we were 15-5, and 2014, when we were 14-6. The "low water" marks of those two seasons were 10-4 in 2012 and 6-4 in 2014.

What does Hawaii have anything to do with my opinion on nebraskas play? I hate posters who tear someone down or say their team cant ge criticized by someone from another team based on that teams performance. Its childish. Their HS rankings have everythinf to fo with this because a team with that much talent, should be doing alot better. Is nebraska awful? Of course not. Me saying they can win it all proves rhat. But has their play been less than stellar as of late? Yes. And imo its because the setting is less than ideal. Their are alot of freshman who werent as hyped as hames making big impacts. Now her play in the back row is very good, but she doed have alot to work on. Childish huh? I find it quite perplexing why you felt the need to come on to the Nebraska Volleyball page just to point out what the players' ranking were coming out of HS, and using past tense in regards to their talent in attempt to make them sound like a season failure. To think that rankings in HS always correlate with on court success in college is asinine. Adana Rollins will most likely be NFOY when she was ranked like 30th should be enough for you to laugh at your claim. I also can't stand when all these excuses are made for why Nebraska is losing, pointing out leadership issues, team chemistry, etc. Maybe teams like Illinois and Minnesota are just better. Can't that just be the reason? Wisconsin and PSU were 5 set losses on the road-not exactly something to bash the talent or call their play less than stellar. Most of these sets are deuce sets and again, the B1G is a LOADED conference. Do they have areas they can work on? Yeah, so does Stanford and BYU. Obviously Hames has a lot to work on. What freshman setter hasn't? I have no problem with criticism of Nebraska. It's been easy to do this year. Just don't bring up HS rankings or how we have the top OH duo according to what they did in HS and last year's top setter or that they're underachieving with their talent, etc. Give teams like PSU, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois credit where it's due. Illinois was phenomenal in Lincoln the other night. And Minny is just flat out a machine. Hate is also a strong word. Dude chill. 44 said nothing that isn’t true and if you’d search his history a little, you’d know he has a good, no, a great deal of respect for the Husker program.

Avoid the 7 and 10 seeds and you can't really complain if you're a Neb fan.
