She’s not good. Location is all over the place. Doesn’t make good decisions. This is brutal. This could be softened for an open forum...especially from a Mommy Momny posts as if she's an expert at everything related to volleyball.

With her leaving the setter debate continues....Does Allie end up running a 5-1 again?

Wishing her the best. She had some stellar solo blocks that were real momentum changers and helped propel us to the finals. Agree that her location and decision-making need work, but she seemed like a great teammate and genuinely sweet girl. I'm thinking she ends up at TAMU. I'm not so sure about A&M. They already have (2 possibly 3) setters on the roster for 2018 already, two of them 6'1 or taller.

With her leaving the setter debate continues....Does Allie end up running a 5-1 again? I think Mary will give a really hard look at all three options (Allie running a 5-1, Allie and Marlie in a 5-2, Marlie in a 5-1). Each will certainly have it's weak points. Last time Allie ran a 5-1 (2016), she led the nation in assists per set as well as ran the best offense in the country. But stronger left sides really went after her block (which is smart since she's only 5'9), especially, late in the season. Allie and Marlie in a 5-2 upgrades the front row block but Marlie could possibly go through some growing pains in location consistency, tempo and decision making. Marlie in a 5-1 provides her the best opportunity to get consistent with her hitters, which could be really valuable if more freshman are put in the starting rotation. But is her back row defense going to solid enough? And does her senior sister really sit out her last season?
While the setting at UF will be a roundtable question all the way until the start of next season, the biggest question for me is who is going to be the other back row option when Hall is in the front row? One of the best things about 2014-2016 was Holston's ability to attack out of the back row, specifically back right. All of Hammons back row attacks were out of the middle and usually OOS, making it a pretty easy read for the block. Putting in another back row attacker could make it easier as far as decision making on a freshman setter, but that means it would have to be Warner, because Mia is unlikely to play that position.

Losing Huskey's block is big. I really hope those rumors aren't true. She made some huge, season-saving plays this year and I really think she could have grown into a force.
At this point, 4 of Florida's 5 attackers look to be freshmen and sophomores. The exception being Kramer. If Huskey isn't around, I want Marlie on the court in 2018 to build for 2019 and beyond. I also don't think Allie should sit being how Mary calls her the "stabilizer" and will be a redshirt senior on a court full of underclassmen. So 5-2 again?

Agree that the Huskey blog was huge. I think she only has upside, so a shame to see her leave (if true). My guess is that Mary will try a 6-2 (v a 5-2) and use Warner and maybe Mia or Taelor on the right (to run slides on serve receive and in transition. If stabilizing is needed, my guess is Allie and Warner would stay in all the way around. Losing Huskey's block is big. I really hope those rumors aren't true. With Cheyenne transferring to Texas State, who has a massive roster of 20 players for 2018 (12 returning, 8 incoming freshmen), one has to wonder if she actually plans on playing. She would be the tallest player on the roster and would have the most elite level experience. But there's also an UA All-American setter (#44 recruit) coming in as well as another setter already on the roster. Her former club teammate, Amy Pflughaupt, is already a big part of the team (earned first team conference honors) so there could be something there.
What ever she chooses to do, I wish her the best going forward. She was an integral part of how the season went for the Gators and has improved vastly during her stay in Gainesville. Transfers can be difficult for the athlete, their families and the former team they played for, but I hope this move provides her with what she is looking to accomplish in life.
Go Gators!

I think 2018 is going to be a bit of a down year for Florida, but they will have a lot of potential in 2019 and 2020.

Losing Joseph, Snyder, and Alhassann are all really big losses.
Hammons has game but she's better with better weapons around her. (like everyone is, but, she's not the type of player you want to be your top offensive option)

But she will need to step her game up as I know she will.

I would guess no, only because it would just be up to Allie to set the entire season and if she gets injured or struggles, then they wouldn’t have a backup. My guess is they’ll go with a 5-1 with Allie, with Marlie coming in to set toward the end of blowout sets/matches.
