I can see this will be all west teams at the end.

I disagree. It lines up where it is highly likely East vs West in the championship.

I can see this will be all west teams at the end. Agree. But can anyone see it any other way? Barring constant wind and rain as a great equalizer?

"USC played some of their higher ranked players at the five position with the idea that they can seal those wins," said UCLA head coach Stein Metzger. Hmmm. Poletto? A grad transfer with no beach experience? Or Hallgren, the freshman?

It shouldn't be any news to Stein that they were at #5 because Hallgren/Polletto have played in that position at #5 since April 17. One could argue that they are better than Dennis/Dorn and Belton/Kaiser who both have also been playing at #3 and #4 respectively since April 17. Like I said in another post, Dennis/Dorn should not be playing at #3.

Like I mentioned before, USC is good at 1 and 2 and if they get those two wins then they just need one more win from 3-5 to win a dual match.

Isn’t Sponcil the best player on his team? Of course no one expects to break up the twins, but ...

Sponcil may be the best player but who would she pair with to be better than the twins?

Just making a point about the vagueness of “in order of ability”.

Hawaii learned their postseason fate by watching the NCAA Selection Show as a team from a laptop under the Big West Conference tent www.khon2.com/sports/local-sports/beach-bows-seeded-third-in-ncaa-national-championship-tournament/1150479526 Hawaii head coach Jeff Hall: "Super excited, you know we're in and that's all we wanted. We want an opportunity to win a championship (...). We're humble, but we're hungry. I think we're playing our best volleyball right now which is all you ever want as a coach. We're peaking at the right time (...), we're hoping that we continue our winning ways and, yes, we're confident, we feel good, but everybody there deserves this, so it's gonna be a battle." ----- LBSU left out of NCAA Tournament www.the562.org/2018/04/30/long-beach-state-beach-team-left-out-of-ncaa-tournament "No. 6 Long Beach State (...) did not lose to a single team outside of the top five in the nation yet were left out of the eight-team field." @562sports: "We are mad on the internet today about the Long Beach State beach volleyball team being snubbed for the NCAA Tournament. Three teams ranked lower than the 49ers got in."
