Just checked the Green Bay Packer football schedule. They play at home on December 12th vs. Detroit. Hotel rooms will be at premium. Hopefully, the Green Bay volleyball program has worked with some hotels to set aside some rooms for the volleyball regionals or it could be pretty difficult to get rooms, let alone at a price that is reasonable.

The upside is that Decembers in Green Bay are usually quite mild. Bring a pup tent and hang out in the park!
Aloha!

I hear BiK is planning to wear his leis and grass skirt while hanging out over the heating vents outside Lambeau field.

I hope they did reserve some rooms at the Best Western (I think) right by the stadium. Nothing but the best lodgings available in Green Bay. It will probably cost more than the actually nice hotels in downtown Minneapolis, though. I think getting sent to Green Bay in December is a punishment. I just hope some people show up. I will consider going to the saturday match if the weather is decent, but it isn't the most compelling road trip.

Ironic if the Wahine are sent to Green Bay. Of course, the conspiracy theories are already being written.

Are the Wahine going to have camouflage uniforms specially made if they get sent to Green Bay so that they can fit in with the locals and gain their support?

Does anyone know if the NCAA committee reserved rooms in advance for the 4 teams that will eventually make it to Green Bay? After the brackets were set yesterday, out of curiosity, I ran a few searches. ugopher, you were absolutely right. All the hotels I searched were booked solid. Even if the committee reserved rooms for the teams, I guess they just figure no fans will want to come? But then why schedule a regional in Green Bay?
Does anyone know where to look for rooms if Green Bay hotels are all booked?

Volley2004, I think, started a thread titled "Packer Weekend". They were told that there were 9 hotels in the area that set aside rooms for the tournament but were not sure what hotels they were. I wonder if UW-Green Bay would be able to help out since they are the hosts. Here is the link to the staff directory: www.uwgb.edu/athletics/directory/index.asp I know that many have been giving Wahine fans grief about the seedings. It is unfortunate that anyone has to go to Green Bay in the winter (or any time for that matter) and especially on the weekend of a Packer home game. I wish all Wahine fans that are, hopefully, making the trip good luck in making travel arrangements.

Another issue with these tournaments but not one for which I can offer a solution. You only have a few days to make travel arrangements to the sub-regionals or beyond. And, of course, it is difficult to get good airfares on short notice. As far as the Wahine visiting Green Bay, I think the committee has an educational purpose in mind. You live in paradise now see how the other half lives! ;D

Thanks ugopher for noticing my original thread regarding this. Still no luck. As I stated in my original thread. Called several hotels in the area. Those that still do have rooms have a 30 day cancellation policy...which means that leaves us out. No mercy from one hotel at all. IN other words...we wait till the weekend and pray there is a hotel somewhere to be found...of course...we'll end up payin an arm and a leg for it too! One hotel told me rooms that are set aside are for teams and their staff...guess fans dont count....except Packer fans that is!
