Losses to pastries like Fullerton, Sac State, and Northridge do not help Pacific's chances. Along with a computer ranking in the mid-fifties may leave the Big West with 2 teams in the dance.

Pacific has the streak. They don't want to end that.
Plus, three teams from the BigWest is not outrageous. Sure, Pacific had some bad losses, but they also beat UCSB and LBSU. + 2 over UCI.

Pacific always gets in. This year will be no different. UC Irvine is very bubbly, with their recent loss to Fullerton and struggle with UC Riverside. End of year struggles don't look good. Their only good win was earlier in the season to Long Beach State. Still, I think they'll take 4 Big West teams. UCI will sneak in...

With a 17-9 record, including wins over UCSB and Long Beach (and two sweeps of UCI), and Pablo & RKPI ratings of 42 and 53, it would be a shock if they did not get in (even discounting the fact that they have never missed an NCAA tourney). Last year they got in with a 17-13 record.

It's not an either or situation. They both probably go.

Last year they got in with a 17-13 record. UCSB is Pacific's biggest win, AND it's a conference victory. Pacific has gotten in the last 2 years because they had a rep batting for them on the selection Committee. = Idaho Boy® says they no longer have representation on the committee. All but 2 of Nevada's losses (Oregon State, and Rice) have come to top 25 opponents. The Wolfpack also have a higher RPI "34" than Pacific. I don't think the Tigers get in. Those extra at larges should go to the SEC and not be wasted on the Big West. Rice and Nevada should also get in, both have had a better season than Pacific.

It's true that Cindy Spiro of Pacific is no longer on the selection committee. But Ill be more surprised if Pacific doesn't get in this year than I was that Pacific got in last year.

UCI is a BIG Question mark --- their fade away at the end of the season will HURT them. I had high hopes for UCI and CSUN -- wonder if I jinxed them?

Strictly from the RKRPI standpoint, there will be some interesting choices to be made. However, I'm not sure that even a win over Notre Dame can save Irvine after the last week. If they lose to ND, it will be all over.
42 Colorado 0.5911194 Central Big 12 43 UC Irvine 0.5899881 West Big West 44 Pacific 0.5894389 West Big West 45 Loyola Marymount 0.5890286 Pacific West Coast 46 Purdue 0.5879262 Mideast Big Ten

Nevada and Pacific play each other on the 27th which makes the decision of which of the two (if not both) makes gets an at large selection a bit premature.

Pacific will have no answer for Salave'a. Wolfpack in a sweep!

If how she played against Hawaii in the WAChampionship match is any indication the Tigers may not have to find an answer for her.
She did a nice job of taking herself out of games mentally and emotionally.
She's an exciting player to watch, but she seemed to let her emotions control her too much when things weren't going perfectly on her attacks.
