assuming Courtney started her knee recovery in October, she’s 7 months in... so she’s looking at about 2 more months before being able to fully go I've seen athletes return to play from ACL reconstruction in as little as 4 months before. Everyone is different. There are no hard/fast rules. This is true, but according to the surgeon repairing my son's ACL right now, the latest research indicates that athletes who go back to full participation after 6 months are significantly more likely to reinjure the knee than those who rehab for at least 9 months.

There are some surgeons that say no less than a year. My point was that arbitrarily assigning a 9-month rehab timeline to Courtney on an Internet forum, knowing nothing about her injury or her progress, is a little silly.

So according to Wisconsin thread, Carlini injured her ankle and that’s why she’s not on the roster. She wants to rehab it to make sure it’s 100 percent ok.

Japan Roster for Week 2 3 Nana Iwasaka MB (C) 2 Sarina Koga OH 4 Risa Shinnabe OH/OP 7 Yuki Ishii OH 8 Mami Uchiseto OH 9 Haruyo Shimamura MB 10 Koyomi Tominaga S 13 Mai Okumura MB 15 Kotoe Inoue L 19 Mari Horikawa OP 20 Arisa Inoue OH 21 Ai Kurogo OH 22 Kanami Tashiro S 27 Mana Toe L Hmmm...I wonder how the US will do against Japan. US just barely squeak by Japan in a 3-2 match the last time they met at the World Grand Championship Cup in 2017, now can the US do better and beat Japan more emphatically?

Japan Roster for Week 2 3 Nana Iwasaka MB (C) 2 Sarina Koga OH 4 Risa Shinnabe OH/OP 7 Yuki Ishii OH 8 Mami Uchiseto OH 9 Haruyo Shimamura MB 10 Koyomi Tominaga S 13 Mai Okumura MB 15 Kotoe Inoue L 19 Mari Horikawa OP 20 Arisa Inoue OH 21 Ai Kurogo OH 22 Kanami Tashiro S 27 Mana Toe L I assume Inoue is still Japan's starting L. If not Toe must be amazing. Inoue runs rings around any our L's.

Japan's roster changes from Week 1: 18h Saori Takahashi => 8h Mami Uchiseto 24m Aika Akutagawa => 4o Risa Shinnabe 23L Akane Yamagishi => 27L Mana Toe
As for their liberos, both Inoue and Yamagishi split all 3 sets in 0-3 Serbia, Inoue played all 4 sets in 1-3 Brasil, and Yamagishi played all 4 sets in 3-1 Germany. I guess Inoue will start over Toe tonight.
