For FIVB rosters, you can only take 14 athletes IF you designate two liberos. So, Wilhite going to Japan (confirmed via social media) means that the plan to convert Robo to libero for more than one match happened literally Thursday night since the team flew out of Lincoln at 4 AM on Friday. Really sucky for Benson that she finds out the day before that she's not traveling with the team anymore.
For the record, I really like Robo at bro.

Robro is the best bro we got right now. I like that - "Robro"! Now another solid back-row player (passer) needs to be found, -> to sub in when needed.

Robro is the best bro we got right now. That's pretty sad. Not that her back row skills aren't solid for an outside, but our 2nd-best passing outside is a better option than any libero we have in the gym???

JWO is very overrated and the best we have left the team or isn't training with the team yet. This is why Courtney was playing over JWO last year too.

That, and Courtney was passing something like 60-70% perfect last summer in WGP play while DSing.

I didn’t watch the last match against the Italian teenagers. The only time I saw Robinson on the floor she hit straigh into the net on an ill advised sharp angle to hit, and then got aced the very next point, and then was subbed out 🤷🏽♂️

Is Courtney's knee just not ready to go for this summer? assuming Courtney started her knee recovery in October, she’s 7 months in... so she’s looking at about 2 more months before being able to fully go

Everyone is different. There are no hard/fast rules.
