Problem with Mitchem is that she will play as a backup for Scandicci next season. Starting OH duo L.Boseti/Vasileva, and they just signed Serbian OH Bojana Milenkonvic as well. Only 4 foreigners on the court - Haak ( Sweden) Adenizia (Brazil) Stevanovic (Serbia) Vasileva (Bulgaria). Yes, I wish more of our young players signed with bad teams in strong leagues. The court time against good competition is probably the best way for them to develop. People take pride when some of them sign with top teams, but it really does little for them aside from soaking up a quality culture and getting to see how better players train.

I'd like to see Mitchem's tendency to land on one leg get fixed. Yes. I have ACL concerns with one leg landings. She's a strong young woman though.

Is the Red-Blue Scrimmage being aired?

Confused as to how the scrimmage will be used for evaluation purposes when the VNL roster leaves tomorrow for the finals in China and the head coach of the program will be on a plane... and JWO and Wilhite are supposed to be competing for spots. Also confusing that Megan Courtney isn't on this prelim roster at all, despite being on the VNL prelim roster as an outside hitter... Dannemiller was supposedly competing for a VNL spot yet isn't competing for a Pan Am Cup spot... More evidence that the VNL prelim roster was crap. Oy. The holes.

This is exactly why I think press conferences would be helpful FOR Karch and the team. But I got slapped by Mr. Trinsey for proposing it. If Karch wants a narrative, he needs to make it public so that his supporters are, at least, somewhat aligned, and not making guesses about what Karch is thinking.

If Karch wants a narrative, he needs to make it public so that his supporters are, at least, somewhat aligned, and not making guesses about what Karch is thinking. For example, Nebraska in 2017. Coach Cook was in control of the media the whole season, being held in pressers every week since Day 1 of the preseason. He took questions, he rejected questions. Not only did he create a narrative, but it was honest, and it worked. "With each other, for each other" will go down as one of the best, if not the very best, mantra in Nebraska Volleyball history.

My notes from the match: -Inky, Abercrombie, Happ, Wilhite not suited. -No Madi Kingdon -Team USA still serving tough. -More backrow attacking. Mostly the pipe (I refuse to call it a bic unless it's really a bic). A little from the D zone. -Outside Hitters: I think Anae looked the best overall. She passed fairly well. She's one of the few American prospects that can hit w/ some range - hits line, sharp angle, tools the block. Rolfzen was pretty solid, but I think she's good at everything but not great at any one thing. I'm not familiar w/ Mitchem. She's very tall, hits high, hard and flat, but she's a very shaky passer. She gave up a ton of aces. I have a hard time picturing her as a successful OH for Team USA due her serve receive deficiencies. Simone Lee isn't that great of a passer either but a little more solid. She's quite dynamic but really can't see her as a serve receiving OH for Team USA either. She should really train for OPP. -Liberos: No one really shined. No one looked horrible either. Oh Megan Courtney played. I don't know if that was a surprise. Her passing was solid as usual. No JWO. -Middles: Too many missed connection - probably due to limited training time and revolving setters. Not too many of them looked comfortable w/ the tempo of the slide. Not much worth discussing. Washington has a tough serve. -OPPs: Whitney probably looked the most solid, but nothing amazing. Rivers and De Hoog looked okay. Lowe looked rusty AF. She started off really out of whack w/ mistiming. The time off really shows. But towards the end of the match she had some decent swings. -Setters: I was a bit disappointed w/ Carlini. Her team got waxed in 2 of the 4 games but most the fault due to the awful passing. She was also by far the sweatiest player in the gym - maybe from chasing errant passes all night. She had a few brilliant sets but way too many errors - trap sets, low sets. Tried to force the issue too much even w/ the bad passes and it usually resulted in losing the point. I thought Hunter looked pretty comfortable w/ the tempo - mostly in front. She and Rolfzen obviously had a good connection. I liked Poulter a lot. I think she located the ball pretty well for the most part. Had three misconnections w/ Rolfzen in the 4th game but I think it was mainly Kadie's fault.
Oh and for fans of the men's side, there was a Jaeschke sighting. He's wasn't walking w/ crutches (hopefully that's a good sign - I'm not familiar w/ rehabbing ACL), but carried some ice w/ him.

Per post in VNL thread, Kingdon has taken Wilhite's place on the VNL roster. Wilhite was seen to be wearing a boot.

It is odd that random fans are not given access to injury information, to the process for roster selection, and to evaluations of various personnel options. Don't all other professional sports routinely include fans in all of these matters and more? I wonder what the reason is? It must be the head coach's stubbornness and paranoia that keeps things this way. The players will one day revolt over the exclusions and the usav leaders will make a change. Volleytalk polls will be used for lineup selections and only those who have never seen a practice session will be allowed to vote.

Okay, now the question is, will the Pan Am Cup be aired anywhere? Last year it was aired on FloVolleyball, but I haven't seen any broadcasting info this year. Correct me if I am wrong.

I hope it is on Flo, especially given their fees. I might be able to broadcast some games on my facebook or instagram should I be in attendance. I'll let ya know. Local Dominican TV will broadcast the event, sometimes I can get a link to a stream via DR social media

Yes, it will surely be on Flo. Outside the USA, NORCECA sells the rights to InterneTV (iTV), and they produce the video, and sell it PPV every year. Within the USA, FloTV then rebroadcasts iTV's stream verbatim, which is why it still carries the "InterneTV" logos on things like the score graphic, bottom ticker, and pre-match intro montages.
Briefly, whatever iTV produces for NORCECA, Flo will always carry. And iTV always does the Pan Am Cups, plus all other NORCECA events down to U17 age groups.
InterneTV usually starts advertising their PPVs about 1 week or less prior to the start of the event. For the senior women's Pan Am Cup starting 07/08, that means around early July. Flo should add it to their schedule around then, too.
