Right, and "penalize" (only two points) people who were attempting to play the game by saying, "screw aces and blocks."

Right, and "penalize" (only two points) people who were attempting to play the game by saying, "screw aces and blocks." In most match ups aces aren't something you can game....sans having multiple prolific ace getters on your team, it's near impossible to draft a true competitive advantage in aces. FWIW, I still think most of the matchups will end up 3-2. Most of the non 3-2 matchups occurred during matchups with people who didn't understand their line up (I'll refrain from calling them out by name) or unforeseen circumstances that caused the player to not play.

Does anybody happen to have the draft results from last year? Just out of curiosity I would like to look at that if it’s available. it's in last years thread. just search for 2017 Fantasy in the thread title.

75/114 (72%) of the head-to-head matches in last year's league were decided by a 3-2 score or were tied. That seems like a lot. I really think further consideration of the scoring method, beyond just a vote, is necessary! You come out on the wrong side of a few of those match-ups and your season could be over, right? hence the change to a points based system.... would have been even more fun with weekly high bonus points!

I didn't participate, but I understand that a lot of participants were basically "throwing" a couple of the categories and not really competing on them, while stacking enough categories tot ry and target 3 category wins, and the match. A points-based system would benefit people who had more balanced active rosters. This is how I got 3rd place the first year. I went 10-3 but I think 8 or 9 of my wins were 3-2. I lost (at one point) 4 players to injury (Haben, Kirsten Mead, Sydnye Fields, and Kalei Mau). I had to bench both my setters since one setter wasnt going to beat anybody. I literally had a loss in the assist category each of the last at least 10 weeks. With the points system, I probably would have been middle of the pack

Is that a bad thing? I think they SHOULD get penalized for that.

I didn't figure out the rest of the tiebreakers. One big mover but other than that, not as much of a difference as one might expect. How many points is a 3.5-1.5 victory worth? 2? And does the loser get 0? What about a 2.5-2.5 tie?

To be fair, the points system doesn't really change the matchups ending in a 3-2 victory, (the active roster minimums does a better job of possibly getting more 4-1 and possible 5-0 victories) Having the weekly bonus points would have created some separation among teams re points.

I was likely going to take Plummer with my first pick. Looks like that may stay consistent with cbrown taking my spot!

OK, I have my top 36 choices ready. Jesus. I feel very unprepared. Also, this draft starts soon but there are some teams that still don't have their 2018 rosters up online, so there are a couple very talented freshmen whose positions aren't public, which definitely affects the draft. For example, it's completely possible that Jonni Parker is listed as an OH, a S, or an OPP. Hord/Gray could be listed at multiple positions too.
