I'm not sure where people are getting this "Westerberg only touches 10ft" stuff from. I've been trying to research this and the only thing I can find is an article from the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News from Dec. 13, 2017 (over a year ago). In that article it states she touches 10'2" and that was a year ago. If you look at her recent videos she gets up there. Definitely over 10'2".... This is the link to the webpage. I'm only providing a link to what's already on the internet. I have no idea how accurate the information might be. The page lists her as 17 years old. The embedded video lists her as in a 16U league, but only block touching at 9'1" with a standing reach of 8'0", so the 9'7" number on the web page would be an improvement. Hopefully, she has continued to improve. www.ncsasports.org/womens-volleyball-recruiting/british-columbia/maple-ridge/maple-ridge-secondary-school/tiffany-westerbergMust be old/inaccurate info....

2019 is Robyn's first freshman class. It's way too early to judge how well she recruits. I'm not going to be worried until at least we see the 2020 class play bc she got a late start for the 2019 class. Many recruits had already committed for 2019 by the time Robyn became coach. Even in 2020, it will be somewhat early bc there are players this season like Quade for Illinois and Alade for Stanford who weren't good until they were juniors. Nikki Taylor also took a while to be dominant. Let's give Robyn some time before we say that she's a bad recruiter or a great recruiter. We don't know yet. I am encouraged about Lundqvist working with the middles. Burns, Liva, and Williams all improved this season. I hope that our new MB recruits improve a lot as well. Time will tell. Quade and Alade were both top 50 recruits, something UH does not have. They were being set by two of the best setters this year so of course they are going to look good. Quade has a lot of work to do to repeat as a 1st team AA. Quade was ranked #86 and Alade was unranked. First, Alade was from Canada so she wouldn't be ranked in any event (just like Westerberg and Helvig would not be ranked even if they were the next Boskovic or Bella Haak). But she was a complete unknown. It was a fluke that she was recruited. Someone saw her at a club tournament's skills competition and contacted Denise Corlett (AC at Stanford) who emailed her. No one was recruiting her. She was a walk-on and thought she'd be a bench player all four years. She only played in 20 sets in her freshman and sophomore years (20 matches total). She was very raw and had really only played volleyball since her junior year of high school. She would not have been ranked in the senior aces even if she was from the USA. Riley Waggoner is ranked #58, higher than either Quade or Alade.

Everybody knows that foreign players don't have rankings!

Their setters helped. But wasn't Iosia ranked #21 and didn't she win an award for best HS setter in the US? Lang isn't ranked yet but she's supposed to be good. I don't think she'd be setting for TAV Black if she weren't. But we'll have to see.

That is not impressive at all, especially if she is playing the Middle. Now thinking her best position would be at OPP. 2017 finals were much better for her #10 Hmmmm... Make a highlight vid of this? This might actually be tougher competition than the Academy vs Lightning vid I posted because this vid is the JR National Champs as opposed to just Provincial Champs

McKenna Granato and Casey Castillo were named to Volleyball Magazine's 2015 Fab 50 list along with the these other players: Hayley Hodson Alison Bastianelli Mikaela Foecke Alyse Wallace-Ford Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani Taylor Hughes Morgan Johnson Taelor Kellum Taylor Morgan Jordyn Poulter Lindsey Ruddins Samantha Seliger-Swenson Micaya White Tionna Williams

Don't care what anyone has to say. Westerberg will be the breakout freshman in this class for Hawaii! Hey wasn’t Kim in the news charged for murder? Nice profile pic. Just saying..

Lets be real the ugly truth has finally been revealed. Wagoner can't terminate. Passing might be her greatest asset but i see her as another Granato until proven. Igiede has no highlights of her blocking, she can't hit behind the setter yet she says she wants to play RS. AND i still hate her footwork Hellvig is an unknown, apparently Sweden is in one of the bottom tier of the U18 championships standings so not good. Is Akana even a legit 5'11. She is athletic but I don't see her starting for her entire career. Playing opp dont think at 5'11 will shut down the best opposing attacker or does playing in the middle when she doesn't have the hops as Kaufman. Westerberg touch of 10'0 is really ugly... OMG some of you should just stop. Why would anyone want to come to UH after reading some of this!

I remember there was a lot of hype with Castillo. Injuries suck.

I remember there was a lot of hype with Castillo. Injuries suck. Injuries really hindered her development as a player. Never the same player after that!

Once again, is there any news on Hellvig’s paper. It’s taking quite a while. Has she taken her entry exams yet?
Oh, and I’ve been trying to look for videos on her, but most of it is on the beach.
