I know Hanawahine was injured earlier in the season which led to less playing time

I am thinking, Robyn may give one of the 3 remaining scholarships to Krug. That is if she cannot get 3 transfers, for next year. I am quite sure, Robyn will only take transfers who she feels will be able to Start, next year. She will not take a transfer, who she feels is a project player. With that said, and looking at the current roster, Robyn will have 1 scholie available for 2021 (Williams spot), and quite possibly 1 or 2 scholies (Castaneda and Krug) for 2022. Thinking Robyn will hold over a scholia for either a transfer, or a freshman recruit for both 2021, and 2022. In 2023 she will have 5 scholies available. I am also thinking the only project player she would bring in would be at the Setter position, to back up Iosia and Lang. Krug is already on a generous scholarship because of Hawaiian background and her being in-state. It is wise for Robyn to use that scholarship for other students especially if it is to attract potential impact transfers. Did not know that, thank you for the info. One player Robyn will not have to give a scholarship to, that is a good thing. On another topic, wonder if Robyn will go after Mica Allison, a 6'1 Sophomore Setter, who is looking to transfer from Auburn. That would give her 2 years to play for the Wahine, and Robyn will not have to look for a backup Setter until 2021.

The athletes on scholarship for the upcoming 2019 season will be: Castaneda (Sophomore) Williams (Junior) Sibley (Senior) Iosia (Senior) Akana (Freshman) Westerberg (Freshman) Igiede (Freshman) Wagoner (Freshman) Hellvig (Freshman) So three scholarships are left available for possible transfers, and after next season, two more scholarships will be opened up (Iosia and Sibley). So far the recruits for 2020 are: Lang European (?) Via (but it was said that she would be a walk-on) Therefore, it looks like Sibley and Iosia's scholarships will be the two incoming recruits' scholarships. This still leaves three possible transfers, and as of right now, the priority looks to be, Setter > Libero > Pin Hitter > MB. If we could get Tastad, that would be a MAJOR get, and I am pretty sure that she would start immediately at the libero position. Next season she would be a sophomore, so she will have a scholarship for three years (and she deserves a scholarship). Hanawahine would also be a great get, but I feel that it would be better if she was a walk-on. If Hanawahine were to play on the team next year, is it a guarantee that she will start over Okino at Libero? I remember watching her play in high school, and she was great, but she has been played very sparingly for Oregon (given that they have Nuneviller, Tastad, and BVS). Hanawahine will be a junior I believe (she didn't redshirt this year, right? I know she played earlier this season). Also, Rasmussen would be a huge transfer for the Wahine, and she will bring in the experience that we lack in the pins. I think she would be a redshirt junior next season? Any information on possible transfer setters? I know there were the rumors about Choy (but I think they were just rumors), and Miller is transferring from UCLA (most likely to Minnesota). Anything else? Hanawahine played matches in her freshman and sophomore years, so I don't think she redshirted in either of them. I'm not sure if Rasmussen wants to redshirt but she could and, if she does, she'd be a redshirt junior. I agree about Tastad; she'd be a great get and IMO she'd start as libero. Does she have any ties to Hawaii? Does Rasmussen? Looking at the scholarships, two sophomores would be perfect since only Castaneda has a scholarship that year. But a senior next season then a junior in 2020 would work there too. IMO ideally you'd have one or two sophomores (or a senior then a junior) and one or two senior transfers so that you spread the scholarships more evenly. Hawaii is going to have a lot of freshmen on scholarships. If Akana's was four year (as she implied in that interview someone here linked), I'd guess that all the other frosh are too. Mica Allison is also trying to transfer but she's a better fit at Illinois or Minnesota IMO. Champaign is only about 20 miles from her hometown and Minnesota isn't that far. The B1G is a draw for many ppl. The only other setter I've heard about is Peyton Chang. She has one year of eligibility left and wants to play while in grad school. But rumor was she was thinking of the East Coast.

Jolie Rasmussen is half Japanese. Her mom’s side is Iwasaki.
Maybe she have cousins or relatives here that could help make it easier for her to transfer here.

huh i would not take hanawahine on a scholarship she was at best the 4th DS/L to come off the bench Hanawahine is not a bad player by any means, and she was behind Nuneviller, Tastad, and Van Sickle (who would make great liberos/DS at many other schools). However, due to injury, I do think it may be better that Hanawahine is a walk-on because it really isn't a guarantee that she will start over Okino at libero, so I agree that a scholarship for a libero would be better used on someone like Tastad. However, Tastad may be a stretch because I don't think she necessarily has any connections to Hawaii, but she did play in the matches at the SSC. Maybe she loved the atmosphere, and she would be willing to play for the Wahine.

I truly believe whoever Robyn brings in as Libero, if she does at all, will not be awarded a scholarship automatically. She would have to prove herself first. The way Akiu did, before she was awarded a scholarship.

It was a bad decision on his part to leave, right when Cal Poly is on the rise as a nationally ranked program again. Part of their success is because of players like TVW, but any program has to start somewhere. And they have a good core returning from this year's squad. Yes, Cal is in the PAC12, better conference, more money, but they weren't that good this year. He is starting fresh again, with players that he didn't recruit.
