How would they know already? I thought the rankings involved a lot of input from college coaches?

And if she's a top 3 recruit, that means 2 of the top 3 are setters. That never happens. 2017 was the closest but not even that year. Hell, Poulter was #3 and SSS #8 their year.

it doesn’t make sense to me though that she would choose Stanford over Texas if Texas was her dream school and especially if she’s better than cabello... then beat her at the starting setting position... Dreams change. How can you say no to Stanford? Not saying Miner doesn’t have the grades but there have definitely been recruits that have said no to that Stanford class load. Stanford gets the top STUDENT athletes I would imagine but there are definitely some players that are more athlete than student. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Stanford isn’t the Mecca of college volleyball.

How would they know already? I thought the rankings involved a lot of input from college coaches? Come on, now. They have a pretty good idea who the elite kids are already based on who is getting selected for international competition . . .

Heck, you could dispute the top three for 2020.

I’d mostly agree that even two years out they*think* they know who the very best are, but using international competition as the barometer seems pretty flawed. Plenty of non top10 recruits make these HP rosters and a number of top 10 players aren’t even on the training teams, let alone the traveling teams.

Thanks. I knew she was up there, I just wasn’t sure if she was universally considered top 3. It's just an opinion, nothing universal about it. She'll probably be the top ranked OH, and it's rare the top ranked OH isn't top three according to PVB.

If all stays on todays page, yes. Would be hard to deny orr a top ranking. But this 2021 class is stacked. Lots of great athletes in this group. Anything could change
