Since we are going to play this game...did I say he was “quoted” as saying or did I say I read in an article that he said? In reading the article do you not come away with that at some point he said he couldn’t believe she improved so much. Come on...we’re all smart people. Stop it. You wrote, “I remember an article where Sheff said he couldn’t believe how much she’s improved.. . .” That was simply wrong. You read an article that said a kid told the magazine that Sheffield told her she improved. This is not Sheffield saying anything to this magazine. And that was my point, he could not have possibly told the magazine that. . .because that is a recruiting violation Read more: volleytalk.proboards.com/post/2301705/quote/74829?page=20#ixzz6CCF33CdIOk...I will let you “win” this one by saying I should had said I read an article that said Sheff told somebody, somewhere he couldn’t believe how much she improved. At the end of the day it doesn’t change the whole point. She came on later than someone said he she improved greatly in his eyes and said it...if he said it to the girl or even if he had said it to the writer, he said it and you believe he did too...you just want the world to know he didn’t say it personally in the press. Gotcha.

What's the story with Lexi Rodriguez and the Borum sisters leaving SPRI for Fusion? Spvb was becoming too much of a job for the players, even at 16 years old. The club expects too much from their players, and is incredibly strict on them. The entire club is in rapid decline.

Just curious. Can you be specific as far as their expectations? I don’t know what their specific rules or expectations are / which ones made the players annoyed enough to leave, I’ve just heard second hand from people who know spvb players that it was due to the club being too controlling. I don’t know if this is still a rule, but they used to not be allowed to get on their phones during tournaments, if they weren’t playing, they had to be watching other spvb teams. They also used to all walk in the convention center in a straight line with their arms swinging in unison. A lot of other clubs refer to them as the “cult”

A lot of other clubs refer to them as the “cult” I personally never played with an SPBV players but had many teammates who did in college. They all said SPRI girls ended up being the wildest partiers in college because they were so restricted in high school.

Sophia Callahan is playing with the coast 18’s team. She’s not the biggest player on the floor but she has a live arm!

Of the players I have seen - I would have also gone with Orr and Krause as #1 and #2. It gets much more difficult for me after that. I haven't seen Miner play, I am guessing she will be pretty high on this list?

30 seems like a lot....these are the Top 10 who impressed me the most currently, so it's those who I would say are the most "college ready" day 1 as a freshman in the 2021 class:
1- Orr 2- Krause 3- Hope 4- Ariail 5- Boney 6- Rodriguez 7- Francis 8- O'Gorman 9- Wait 10- Greene
HM: Williams (Mizuno OH), Batenhorst, Williams (TAV Middle), Gray, Miner
This Nebraska class is very good. Color me impressed.

Color me impressed. Any 2022's that you would throw into the mix. My understanding, this isn't necessarily college ready, but who you would want to build a college team around from 2021+ classes. Agree about Nebraska class - and this is stating the obvious. Orr and Krause are on a level ahead of anyone else I have seen.

FWIW, I don’t think the difference between Orr and the other top setters in this class is as big between Krause and the other OH’s in this class. I think 2021 is gonna be 2018 all over again. A clearly superior OH (though Hope has moved OH and I think she’s a stud) a number of fantastic setters with one slightly ahead of the pack, and then a crap ton of really good middles. Re the building of a college dream team 2021+, I dunno, the post specifically said who coaches thought would be good as a college freshmen. I take that as who is most college ready from day 1, not who will be the best throughout their collegiate career.
