I'm sorry: I presume I am in the minority here - I really, truly don't know - but as a former coach (albeit 10s of years ago), I find SUCH The Fixation Upon 13-15 year-old girls WAY Creepy! Interesting. I don't know about 'Fixation' - but at what point is interest in club volleyball 'normal' and when is it 'creepy'? Serious question. Does a player's public commitment to a University change this? Obviously club coaches high level of interest would be normal (I would think). I try and be sensitive to the 'creepy' tag - even when usually talking about 19 and 20 year old college players. For college coaches? It isn't, unless they're inherently a creep. Coaches are "fixated" on young players because the coaches' livelihood depends on evaluating these players and ultimately getting the best ones to play for them. For fans? Again, it isn't unless the fan is inherently a creep. Some fans are interested in seeing young talent develop and enjoy the sport at all levels. They also enjoy projecting the future success of their favorite college team. The only creepiness is when adult fans try to get involved with these players away from the sport. There's no reason for an adult to be directly talking to a minor they don't know in real life on social media, for example. Those people should probably take a long look in the mirror and reevaluate their lives. |

Rumored Stanford Recruits Kami Miner - 6’0 Setter, Long Beach Mizuno Sami Francis - 6’4 Middle, Wave Obvi we won’t know for a while if they get in or if they are even really considering Stanford. These two are probably going to be in the top 10. |

I’m kinda surprised that kami would consider Stanford considering Selina is already going there... and most likely she’s redshirting her freshman season since Jenna is gonna be a Senior

Redshirts at Stanford have mostly been middle hitters who are very raw (e.g. Bowen). |

Redshirts at Stanford have mostly been middle hitters who are very raw (e.g. Bowen). I also think you can’t look at what Stanford has done in the past - Shaw and Dunning are no longer there. So we should really look at Hambly’s philosophy at Illinois and what he believed in. That’s a better indicator, imho. |

In case it hasn't been mentioned, the PrepVolleyball 2018 Soph 79 was published middle of last month. That'll be this class (2018 HS season). The PVB April 16s rankings were published Wednesday, though some 2021s are playing up. |

On this week's Point Wisconsin podcast, Sheffield mentioned that he sees commitments tapering off for this class until they can take their official visits in the fall.
