Thank you. I was just confused because the post that was responded to about Bjorklund was talking about DeBoer. (Who I think MN will go after hard) I think they were *maybe* suggesting that they would prioritize going for a big time 2028 setter (such as Joselyn Samuels) instead of DeBoer in 2027 and pick up a utility/backup setter for 2027. It’s an interesting thought. Gotcha. I think DeBoer has all the talent to be successful at this level. Plus, she has ties to the program. If she decides to go elsewhere, I could see them maybe waiting until 28, but I don’t think they should pass up DeBoer if they have the option. There are also other talented setters outside of MN that they may be interested in. But I’m not the coaching staff - just my opinion!

As for the greater region, that Legacy 15's team is going to get raided, and early. Non-volleyball reasons notwithstanding, the Michigan schools are going to have to show a lot of upward momentum this season to keep those players home - them failing to do that could benefit Minnesota recruiting. If Keegan is really smart, he'll skip on recruiting the true heir apparent to Swenson in 2027 and backfill practice setters in the portal until 2028 to land a real setting prize close to home...Josalyn Samuels. And if he doesn't end up getting her, try to poach a 2027 from wherever they committed. Thanks for the intel. I appreciate your posts on the board. It’s always very clear you’ve seen a lot of club teams play. Will be interesting to see if Keegan tries for a 2027 or ‘28. There was at least one 2028 at the prospect camp in June. Tatum Kelly out of New Wave in Illinois. Have you seen her play? Looks like she will be a prized recruit based on the coaches following her. Thanks for the heads up on Samuels from South Dakota. Same club as Bergen Reilly hmm… I’m all for a wide recruiting footprint and not having tunnel vision with in state talent. I’m *thrilled* we plucked Crosson out of Stanford’s backyard and that there were 3+ Texans at the prospect camp. But with the way Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin, Pitt, Louisville and others got early commitments from top talent this year, having an in-state advantage recruiting an elite player like DeBoer seems like a risky thing to pass on. If she chooses to go elsewhere, then hunker down for a recruiting battle in 2028. Again, I appreciate the discussion! So much can change in a year. My prediction at this time though is that DeBoer gets an offer next June.

Who is Bjorklund? Everyone has been talking about DeBoer in 2027. Kaelyn Bjorklund. 6’1” setter/opp for Northern Lights 15-1 this past season. I believe someone has mentioned before that Northern Lights runs 6-2s a lot to get more kids playing time. Looks like she started in a 6-2 with Lakeville South varsity as a freshman this year too. It does seem like there are more Gopher VT posters with ties to/knowledge about MN Select than Northern Lights. NL girls seem to get mentioned less frequently. Rayna Christianson was at the elite prospect camp though and is a Creighton commit. KBB liked what she saw! Definitely agree there is definitely a select bias. their teams are very good but with how good northern lights teams are also it’s weird that they get less recognition. their def are some problems like the 6-2’s but overall i think their teams on average probably place higher then selects. Although it’s great that we have 2 high level clubs in MN!

Definitely agree select has had a better pipeline to the umn pipeline recently although i am curious why the swenson sisters and sidney switched as they did used to play at lights for a bit. And While i think the teams are close i’d get the edge to lights. Selects 18’s were head and shoulders better then lights 18’s for sure even though they did go 3 this season but they were definitely better. 17’s is the opposite lights 17-1’s were way above Selects. for 16’s i would give select the edge although lights put up a good fight a lot and even beat them nicely at AAU’s recently so that’s more of a draw. Lights 15-1s have beat selects numerous times so i’d give lights the edge as well as lights 14-1s and 13-1s are also really good. I also like how it seems like lights lower teams like the 2’s and 3’s always seem to make gold at these tournaments and do very well. Lights 15-2’s even beat their own 1’s a couple times this season and also beat Selects 15-1s i believe. Either way it’s great we have 2 great clubs that can compete

Per KKs instagram story: recruiting season ✔️
Whether that means they are done for the ‘26 class, or it just means since club season is over, I don’t know. But it would make sense that this be a smaller class. I expect more in ‘27.

Anyone with access to vbadrenaline able to share insights from the couple of recent articles highlighting our new recruits? I don’t know how to add a picture - but this is the text about MC: Makenna Crosson Outside Hitter Vision - University of Minnesota, Gophers This is a recruiting victory for the Minnesota Gophers, as one of the top outside attackers in the country Crosson will immediately elevate the level of play in the gym. Her physicality at the outside position and versatility as an attacker make her difficult to stop, reaching high to attack inside the block or using her vision to score through the seam. Crosson has defined herself on the national stage as a six rotation outside that is efficient in all skills, she has all the tools and endless potential to be dominant at the next level in a Minnesota Jersey.

I only realized this week that she is Sam Crosson’s daughter.

Do we think there are any other 2026 offers out? Maybe another middle (Kinsley Young? Ella Andrews?) Another setter is likely needed with the 2026 class too.

Either way it’s great we have 2 great clubs that can compete The Swenson’s (I’m fairly certain) started at Lights, went to Select, came BACK to Lights with a couple other Select girls in tow, and then they ALL went back to Select with one more Lights girl in tow..😄 Regardless it’s a fun rivalry to watch, and I hear there isn’t the same level of animosity as it used to have. I like when Vital has a competitive squad like thy did a few years back. Would love to see Kokoro and M1 up there too.
