I mean Harms was our first HS AA in 2008, followed by Dixon and Wittman('09), Wilhite ('12), SSS ('14), Pittman/Hart/McLean ('15), Samedy ('16), and Rollins/CC ('17) so while we may not lead the game every year there's a definite MN presence at the game each year. We aren't Stanford/WIS/Texas level but with each year under Hugh we improve.

Minnesota has never had a real windfall from final 4 finishes, not at the level of PSU, Stanford, Nebraska or Texas. That includes the Hebert years. It gets them in the door, maybe, but that's it.
Not to say they don't get great recruits. They do. Just not baskets full of them.
Maybe this changes? Not sure where they would all go anyhow. It's not like they have lots of scholarships available.

Are all scholarships filled for next year?

The only starter we loose is Seliger-Swenson, so I don't know that we have more than one scholarship to give next year. Anyway, all that speculation on other team's threads about how many scholarships they have and how many are left is just that - and not always particularly good speculation. My guess is that we have used what we have barring any (god forbid) transfers.

Guessing Minnesota wouldn’t want a setter with that much eligibility anyway since they have a top setter coming in the following season.

I have no knowledge of the scholarship situation and I doubt anyone would share it, but it's possible they only have 8 or 9 committed for 2019, not including any of the recruits.
Barnes? Third year as a DS. It's possible she's not. She damned good, but ... Sheehan? No idea what transpired there, but it may be one of the reasons she's eligible? Zeimann. No. Litzau. No. McMenimen? Doubtful. Swider? No clue. Rendahl? Probably not.
Huh. Rendahl isn't in my chart. Oops. That's a bad mistake.

Ruffda - Is this the Emme Bullis you are referring to? www.maxpreps.com/athlete/emme-bullis/WETGsodREeeT-Oz0u-e-FA/default.htmDid you state she is a 2021 setter? This link shows she is a L,OH for her High School. I also have the following two committing in 2021 besides Emme Bullis. Anna Wolf 6'3"- MB River Falls, WI - Kokoro Volleyball Club Skylar Gray 5'10" DS Maple Grove, MN - MN Select Believe there has been talk that the Gophers are hoping to land Mabry Shaffmaster to this list of 2021 recruits. Here's hoping somebody else can verify all this.....

barring any (god forbid) transfers. I know it seems to piss people off here to talk about girls on the roster who might transfer. Everyone here wants every girl on the roster now to stay on the team for their entire eligibility window, it seems.
But ... I just would not be surprised to see backup OH transfer. I don't know which, if any, have a scholarship this season. I have a guess on one .... was a starter for most of last year. But got beat out early this year. Shouldn't be hard to guess who I mean, but I won't say the name here. I have no inside info. I'm taking a wild guess, based purely on lack of playing time this season. Doesn't mean that player won't stick it out and perhaps get back on the court in the future, with more development, etc.

She got beat out at the end of last season, too...and the one who replaced her in the starting line-up is the one who ended up transferring. So who knows what will happen right?

I think a 6-2 would be interesting. Whatever it takes for Minnesota to get the best players on the court is good. I don't think that Samedy has been all that effective in the back court and I do think Alexis Hart hits well back there. For back row attacks, Minnesota would still have Rollins for 3 rotations and Hart for 1 rotation leaving just 2 rotations where we have no back row attack. All this assuming that Barnes still comes in for Hart and there is no moving Samedy over to the left etc. Really the options are limitless. If Minnesota did a 6-2, could they have the setters come in the back row for the middles? I think the only way that'd work is if Samedy and Rollins are opposite each other, Hart has to play OPP for 1 rotation, CC comes in for Hart & the other oppo (Martin?), and Barnes doesn't get in the game. Plus a 6-2 normally eliminates a majority of slide attacks, which is Pittman's preference. I'm not sure the Gophers would make that many changes.

The setter goes into the back row at position 1 and the blocker/hitter goes into the front row at position 4.
