What an improbable win by the Heels... after giving away the 4th set after being up 21-19, and then getting behind 8-1 in the 5th, the Heels storm back and take the 5th 15-13 and the match 3-2
Wow... just Wow!!
Tournament hopes get a huge boost... what a gutsy performance by these Heels!!

So where do we need to be to make the tourney? Under 45? 2nd in ACC?

Best case scenario in terms of finishing ACC play...
1. Heels win out (Duke, Wake, VT) 2. ND loses to Louisville 3. ND beats GT
Heels finish in sole possession of 2nd in the ACC with a 14-4 record (17-11 overall)

Could be part of the "last 4 in, first 4 out" group... we will have to see how the Committee values how teams finish the season vs. start it (level of comp also plays a part) If the Heels do somehow make the tournament, my guess is they will play one of the top 8 seeds in the 1st round.

A trip to the dance for UNC would certainly be nice....no matter who they would play the first round.....There were so many nay-sayers after a rough start to the season...and now - here they are....in the mix! No matter the outcome - these young ladies should be very proud of their hard work, dedication and growth...and their outlook for the future is bright!

Where you finish in your conference is not a factor considered by the Committee when selecting teams for the NCAA tournament field.

If we do somehow get in the tournament, I would love another shot at Wisconsin or Minnesota. We played both tough in stretches back in August, so it would be interesting to see how we measure up against them as an improved team.

In 2017 and 2018 the top 4 ACC teams made the tournament.
2017 (Pit, MIA, UL, NCSt) 2018 (Pit, FLSt, UL, SYR)
There is a good chance that UNC will be one of the top 4 this year.

They were also all top 4 RPI in the conference. UNC will not be. Conference ranking isn't relevant unless it gets you an auto bid.

Just got a chance to watch the match. Wow! Down 9-1 in the fifth. Incredible comeback. Says a lot about the team. Resilient, gutty performance by a very young team.
