I agree that RPI is very important....last year Cal did not do well OOC and the first half of conference, but did very well the end of conference play. They did not get in bc of their preseason....however, they were not in the top 5 in their conference either. the committee will also take into account our injuries at the time, namely Harrison. I think if we win out and place solely 2nd, we will be one of the last to get in. If not, we probably qualify for the NIVC, which while many schools turn down those offers, it would still be good post season experience for the future. I will point out that VCU (L), Colgate (W) won their conference, and UNLV is top 3 in theirs. So our OOC doesnt look quiteeeee as bad.
In regards to the FSU match....that was the Carly Peck I have been waiting to show up. So many people downplayed her coming in and she slammed 18 kills hitting .441 against a good blocking team. Problem is that when Archer is off, she gets the yank....yesterday, Cox had an off match offensively but Peck held the RS down. I thought Lauren and Parker both started well then hit a slump. Wine came in and helped in critical moments with her calming experience. Good to see Tontai really getting better as a blocker as well as Skyy doing well. I cannot speak enough about our back row in Wurl and Mia being so solid, but the contributions of Shannon and Moseman were very pivotal.
what I would love to have the Louisville and ND matches back.....no doubt this current team would have won both. And for all the naysayers who claimed we only beat FSU bc they didnt have Martin OR Caffrey in October, well here you go! I would say Carolina Volleyball is on its way back and they will challenge for an ACC title the next few years.
