If GA Tech wins out and doesn't make the NCAA tournament, won't they be the ACC automatic qualifier for the NIVC (assuming they accept)? Yes, but I was speaking under the assumption that they make it and we do not. They do have the tiebreaker by virtue of winning the lone head to head match up.

Assuming UNC was going to be on the bubble with a 50 something RPI, would Georgia Tech not be in the same boat?

Ga Tech would be....but if the committee takes a bubble team and awards them a bid because of their 2nd place tie in the ACC, I think they only choose the head on head victor. Who knows. Ive seen some weird mess w tourney selections.

At now 57 and having to play 137 Miami next week, I'm back to thinking GA Tech is definitely in the same boat as us.
The ACC has been especially dreadful this year.

I wish the committee would take into account we were without Harrison and Peck for a good chunk of the pre season. then the GA Tech loss we did not have two starters including our libero. If we would have closed out and beat ND or UL on the road, which we could have done, we would be almost a lock.... Last year the ACC had two teams in the NIVC, Ga Tech and Clemson. Im still hoping Miami beats GA Tech this week. If the committee would/could then it would have to take into account all other teams with injured players (contributing and not, likely, to balance things). I know I know, this was just a what if but it's a big can of worms of a what if.

According to the article, Virginia Tech has changed their team name to the Demon Deacons and also has a player named Caroline Kuhn. I wonder how Wake feels about this. I'm going to miss these seniors. I wish we had Wine all four years.

Too bad we couldn't keep Ava Bell. I was checking UT's website and noticed she has played sparingly for them this year and her last match played was October 16th. Is she injured? Hard to believe she would leave a starting position to be close to the bottom of the depth chart. And I agree. I like where we are and where we're headed.

Yeah....I do not know Ava's motive for leaving and if it was purely vball....but UNC has a better trajectory right now than Tennessee does and Ava would have started with Skyy.....imagine our offense then.
Oh well.....this year has flown and I hope we get to play in the postseason in some tourney.

I've been reading VolNation and some of their posters are less than impressed with Eve right now. Time will only tell whether her first year was a fluke or if she can right the ship.
Part of me struggles with thinking maybe the NIVC would be more beneficial in the long run than a possible NCAA first weekend exit. Then again, our team keeps getting better and better and could very well play spoiler in the NCAAs. Sigh.

Looks like Esterley isn’t going to use her redshirt senior year since she’s being honored at Senior Day.

Esterly decides not to come back. Do wonder if Mariah will be recognized for her transition off the court to assist.

Heels lose to Wake Forest at home in 5. Poor poor coaching. No way we make any tournament after that.
