Crushing loss for a team who has a really high ceiling. I hope the players can see the bigger picture here. UNC should win the ACC next year IF they stay strong, united, positive, supportive of each other and healthy...and keep working hard toward a common goal.

For some reason I thought this match was on Friday and missed it. WTF happened? I hate that our seniors had to go out this way on their home floor. Yeah, no way we are anywhere near the conversation for the NCAA tournament now. I don't think we should be ruled out for the NIVC, though. Our RPI is 70 which I think might be high enough for a bid. And we have winning conference and overall records. Hopefully these girls realize that one match doesn't define a season. They've done so many amazing things after starting off 1-7. I never would've thought we would be in the position where we are now.
Also, Lauren Harrison with another career high 28 kills while hitting .377. This girl is awesome!

At the end of the day....i think we should have expected a chance a lower team would upset us....we are in the right direction but still young. Without Austin, our serve recieve and defense lacked. This match showed how much an anchor she is. With that being said, we are still 3rd in the ACC, higher than where we were chosen. Wake has gotten better and beat Syracuse on the road and almost BC. They have a bright future as well.
Time to regroup and finish strong. Hope we can get more help for Harrison. Cox did really well. Proud of her growth.

I agree with your earlier post "poor coaching". Disagree that the loss was a result of Austin's absence. Heels have lost games with her playing. While she has upside don't think she is yet a game changer. There seems to be a tendency to change what isn't broken and with that comes losses. Won the first set easily, why change what wasn't broken? Not sure what else Harrison can do. You have one player score 27 kills and walk away with a L? Her block stats and errors are lower than the other OHs. If you mean "more help from Harrison" by playing her back row that again is coaching or lack of coaching.

I think Harrison did a spectacular job in the match! She was worked hard and delivered. They should have won this match - hands down

It just seemed we had a lot of players with a few errors each too many than WF did. Passing wasn’t as crisp as it could be. Credit to WF they scrambled on every play to keep it alive. |

Well, that was one hot mess of a match to end the regular season. Hopefully the NIVC will still extend us a bid and hopefully we can take it. I guess we'll wait and see what happens next.
