Hunter was out due to concussion....Austin saw limited time as well. Both hurt. Wine hit negative and no offense other than Harrison who has to e tired.....poor poor serve recieve. Unfortunately with some injuries and a rattled team from wake we couldnt handle the pressure....now we see if we make NIVC since we finish tied for 3rd in the ACC.

Cox played well too. For a while she was the only one doing anything!
BUT...VT won a set 25-9? Thats an a**-whoopin' in my book!

That was a hot mess - wow unfortunate for the team to end the season like that. Cox did well as did Lauren- both at different times in the match, but the errors just kept piling up. That was not the same team we saw mid-season

I wouldn't be surprised if UNC is offered a spot in the NIVC and turns it down.

Its great for seniors and for a program needing post season experience. But not at the expense of health. So far since it started no ACC team has declined

Now that the season has ended, after some mid-season progress but a dismal end, what will happen when the smoke of the season settles.
After watching several games at Carmichael (didn't go to any road games), it doesn't seem like a happy bunch of players.
They lose three players whose eligibility expired - Mia, Greer and Skylar.
I predict they lose five more with eligibility remaining via transfer, medical retirement, or just moving on from volleyball. Maybe even a couple starters in that group.
Esterley -doesn't use fifth year Atherton - medical? or doesn't use fifth year? Clark - medical
player 4 player 5
plus losing Sophie Fisher at the last minute is another loss of a player with eligibility remaining. That would be losing six this year with eligibility to burn.
Team is left with 10 players and 3 incoming freshman for total of 13.
Schall should be gone at some point too, as he has a wife and four kids on a volleyball assistant's salary, which must be tough.

I could also see from watching the match on TV, a lot of “venom” from the bench from Joe too. Especially early in the losing matches. The coaches/staff should realize that this young group doesn’t respond well to this tactic. It’s disruptive.

So far since it started no ACC team has declined I don't think it would be up to the coaching staff. UNC's athletic department isn't Clemson or Georgia Tech.

Why would Mike leave Triangle just to leave UNC two years later? Pretty sure he's raised a family on an assistant salary before.

From what I have been told there are no transfers at this time....doesnt mean it wont change, but i think the players have grown close to each other and the success they had helped a lot ease their minds of a train wreck season and future. I think that when changed were made of who coached front row and back that helped to....we will see if there are any off season jumps or changes if we dont play in the NIVC. I know they are going after a few high profile transfers to fill OH depth

I think Mike is ambitious and is using the position to get back into the college game and pursue a head coaching career somewhere in the area. Wake Forest? Duke? I don't think he wants to be Joe's assistant for several years, and if Joe retires, I do not believe Cunningham would hire from the current staff.

I remember last year Ava put her name in the portal within two or three days of losing the last match of that season. I hope everyone stays that has eligibility.

Except for that neither job is open or coming open.

Nagel has been at Duke for 20 years and hasn't won 20 games since 2016. Seat looks hot!!!!
