TAMU over Texas State in four. Both teams should win against the other two teams at tourney UTRGV and Northwestern State
TAMU has made some adjustments to lineup since Baylor exhibition
Freshman Lauren Davis moved from RS to OH and Freshman Rush took the RS spot. Middles now are Makenna Patterson and Mallory Talbert seems to be doing well and the libero Gomez has really solidified the back row
I can see them being the top of the third tier behind Kentucky and Florida in tier one and Missouri and Tennessee in tier two Maybe even sneak a match away and not drop against anyone below and they should make the NCAA

Kentucky swept Cleveland State 25-17, 25-19, 25-9. I have no real important notes to report back as it was a by the book win for the Cats. They were able to get the bench on the court with even Berezowitz making an appearance late in the 3rd set. I have no regrets about taking the day off work...it’s nice see some match in person for the first time this season.
Kentucky takes on FGCU at 8:30.

Mizzou 3-0 this morning over Austin Peay hit .512 as a team. Tougher match tonight against Northern Iowa at 7 pm CT.

Mississippi State wins in 3 straight sets against Sam Houston. What I liked was the particular rotation where there were 4 freshman and 2 sophomores on the floor. They fought to get this W tonight.

Rich Kern has Arkansas having lost to Maryland in a 3 set lopsided sweep.
Which is interesting, because the game is ongoing and each team has won a set. Pretty competitive match so far (per the stat feed).

Maryland comes out on top in 4 over Arkansas, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, 25-18.
Looks like Dirrigl played her first match since coming back from the ankle injury and did well. Hogs still mixing up lineups looking for the best 6 and starting libero.

Kentucky beats FGCU in 4 (30-28, 25-19, 24-26, 25-17)
FGCU was gassed in the 4th set which was lucky for UK because they looked tired as well and weren’t playing to their standard. I understand that playing multiple matches in a day can lead to fatigue but I haven’t seen other perennial ranked teams struggle as much with conditioning as Kentucky has year after year.
A Wildcat went down late in the 4th but I had my view obstructed and couldn’t tell who (the number of subs around that time didn’t help me narrow it down. Whoever it was seemed to walk off so it must not have been serious.
UK is doing a cool thing for Skinner’s 15th year and having former players come back as honorary captains. Tonight was Nicole Britenriker but she wasn’t there in person and only had a video message. Don’t worry, I’ll send the AD a list of players I demand return.

The Kentucky/Indiana match will be intriguing. Kentucky has the talent and experience to win in 3, but Indiana - from what I can tell - has the bigger point to prove and could give UK headaches all night long. If Kentucky walks into this match, Indiana will win. This is a tournament match for IU. A win could pay huge dividends come Selection Sunday.

If Kentucky walks into this match, Indiana will win. This is a tournament match for IU. A win could pay huge dividends come Selection Sunday. I previously said a Kentucky didn’t have much competition this weekend but FGCU delivered a reality check. With only having to play one match tomorrow tomorrow in the late afternoon, the Cats should hopefully be well rested and roaring from the start. From the little I saw of Indiana today, they can give this team fits if provided the opportunity. Maybe the big football game against Florida will be motivation to get the match over quickly.
