Missouri now 6-0 after a convincing win over a good Northern Iowa team last night. Mizzou's biggest and most glaring weakness last year was passing and it was evident in the one set they dropped to N.I. that it still could be a speed bump. Still, I applaud the Taylor's for being proactive about recognizing this shortcoming and switching up the personnel at the start of the season, it certainly looks much improved over last year. The one knock I had on the Kreklows was that they were slow to change at times when things weren't working. Obviously good passing is a must for all teams, but Mizzou is a pretty versatile/effecient machine when Fuentes is able to get decent passes to work with. I can't wait to see how they stack up against Baylor and Hawaii next weekend, what a loaded tournament.

Concerns over our OH’s. Shaw isn’t the same person she was when she left campus last season. Hitting minus numbers. Minshaw is .05 %. Hoping we improve in those areas as the season goes on. Although we’re winning games reception errors have hurt us as well as other miscues. We’ve got the talent to win some games in the SEC but really need OH’s to improve. Hail state

The staff simply chose to give other players an opportunity against weaker competition. As for Stanford and Minnesota, she obviously struggled early so the switch isn’t that confusing.

The Kentucky/Indiana match will be intriguing. Kentucky has the talent and experience to win in 3, but Indiana - from what I can tell - has the bigger point to prove and could give UK headaches all night long. If Kentucky walks into this match, Indiana will win. This is a tournament match for IU. A win could pay huge dividends come Selection Sunday. I previously said a Kentucky didn’t have much competition this weekend but FGCU delivered a reality check. With only having to play one match tomorrow tomorrow in the late afternoon, the Cats should hopefully be well rested and roaring from the start. From the little I saw of Indiana today, they can give this team fits if provided the opportunity. Maybe the big football game against Florida will be motivation to get the match over quickly. UK has to solve their blocking issues. It may be me, but their level of intensity doesn't seem to be the same. Hope it comes back.

Hail state We knew 1st touch was going to be rough early this season. Losing Murr to a very early season ending injury, missing Zgunda for a few weeks...this is to be expected. OHs have been pretty solid given the amount of swings they are taking. We've been out of system too much to fully involve our Middles. Jordan, as a freshman, has done a good job stepping in as libero this non- conference season. Once we improve 1st touch, and gain some confidence, these girls will be fine. We have made far too many unforced errors...but you have to be excited knowing we've already won more games than last year (small steps.....progress). #HailState

TAMU over Texas State in four. Both teams should win against the other two teams at tourney UTRGV and Northwestern State TAMU has made some adjustments to lineup since Baylor exhibition Freshman Lauren Davis moved from RS to OH and Freshman Rush took the RS spot. Middles now are Makenna Patterson and Mallory Talbert seems to be doing well and the libero Gomez has really solidified the back row I can see them being the top of the third tier behind Kentucky and Florida in tier one and Missouri and Tennessee in tier two Maybe even sneak a match away and not drop against anyone below and they should make the NCAA I think TAMU is in second tier with Missouri and Tennessee, and they will come in 4th in SEC. I think Missouri and Tennessee are better right now. Hans still hasn’t really had a breakout game yet against solid competition. I see the promise in Rush on the right if she can hit more out of system and don’t “rush” making a play when something unusual happens. What makes me think we can do some damage against the top four IMO is the better connection in the middle and the increased offensive attack by Conner out of the setting position. Add to that the libero Gomez could actually be libero if the conference when all is said and done

They must have heard you because they had back-to-back-to-back in the first set today. It has been better first set. Lilley is trapping her hitters in the second tho. And I want to choke this commentator. His lack of knowledge about the game is really aggravating.

Arkansas had a pretty rough day, getting swept by a very mediocre Princeton team. As competitive and aggressive as the Hogs were last night v Maryland, they were sluggish and inept against Princeton. Still trying to sort out the 5-1 v 6-2 formation, and hoping that someone steps up and earns the funny colored jersey. It’s very up and down. Dirrigl looked good last night v MD, but she seemed to be limping a bit out there today.
In the afternoon match, the Hogs drop a set to weak George Mason but end up winning pretty handily in the 4th set, 25-14. New libero, not much different results. Wheeler at OPP had a very nice tournament, but it’s not so easy to find bright spots beyond that. Will have to keep grinding it out and find a groove (and a lineup).

Wow - I just saw where George Mason upset Maryland! I know this isn’t an SEC result, but it sure surprises me, given what I saw this weekend.

She's not playing again today and didn't warm up. There is more going on than simply giving other players an opportunity to play.
