My new favorite interview line: "It's all about the present, and trying to get to the future." This comment could be made about virtually anything, anywhere, in life.

Lineswoman: Heather Gneiting For what it's worth I heard that Gneiting's ankle wasn't 100% so that's probably why we didn't see her at all. Must not be too bad given she is expected at USA volleyball tryouts though.

She was there. I think she was running the scoreboard. Any news on her rehab? Given the reported severity of the injury and how late it occurred in the last season, I would be very surprised if she were ready by the time they start practicing for the season this August. I would love to hear some news that suggests otherwise, though. Also, how about Sara Hamson?

I’d hate to see Miller “waste” a year if she’s not full strength. But it’s her decision. She’s getting married soon (sorry Brutus Buckeye), so maybe she’s ready to get on with life. OTOH, her fiancée still has 3 years eligibility left, so why not redshirt this year, come back strong in 2020? IF (and this concerns me ) they can find a setter, 2020 will be a very good team. Edit: just checked, and Hamson not listed on the 2019 roster.

They asked David Hyte about Miller's progress on Monday during that brief interview with BYU Sports Nation. He didn't go into much detail, just said she's working hard. It was posted on the previous page by Pelagius.
They do have Whitney Bower coming in as a setter for the 2020 season. I'm assuming she'll probably enroll early just like her sister did this year and be here for the spring season, which will help out. EDIT: Oops, Pelagius beat me to it.

On the setter end you'll still have Tayler Tausinga and (@zazu can correct me if I'm wrong) Whitney Bower (sister to Morgan Libero/DS now on the team and daughter of Caroline Steuer Bower BYU -- OH from the late 90s) coming in next year. I think that's the only setter commit for next year right now.

She has bragged for years on Volleytalk how as a 5'5" player she STUFFED THE LEGENDARY 6' 5" Flo Hyman at the net and talked trash at her through the net afterwards.

There was nothing about a vertical requirement.
