The article questions whether Miller will be healed in time for next season. It is possible for her to be ready to go but it will be a tight timeline. Nine months from injury will put her right before preseason. Ideal recovery timeline is a year but athletes have recovered faster. I believe Khat Bell was a good example of that.

I am anxiously awaiting the triumphant return of the most talented Cougar both on and off the court. The living legend herself. The one. The only... McKenna Miller.

I thought when OH Alexa Gray graduated in 2016 after being the two-time conference POY, that BYU would drop off substantially, but they did not. And then RJP just upped her game every season to become fantastic. BYU has been getting excellent recruits. They've been to the sweet 16 or better for something like 6 straight years. I don't think they are going to drop off anywhere close to being a bubble team.

It's hard to pin down, but I don't think Hamson tore her ACL, or if she did, it was a partial tear as opposed to Miller's near-certain complete ACL tear. If Hamson had completely torn her ACL in late July/early August, there is no way she would be playing basketball right now. She could conceivably recover from a partial ACL tear by now, and I have read that the injury may have actually been a torn meniscus, which is also a quicker recovery time.

Hoping the men make it to the Final Four. Would be cool to have both programs there in the same year. Volleyball is #1 in Provo. Football and basketball kinda stink this year. Well, most years. Well, I think you should declare victory on this already since both teams made it in the 2018 calendar year. No reason we have to be bound by the making it in the same school year convention.

I’ve read Sara Hamson tore her ACL, yet she is already back playing basketball. The article questions whether Miller will be healed in time for next season. Did Hamson have a different injury? How good will BYU be for 2019? Will they be pre-season ranked top 10?

The AVCA seems to keep their preseason rankings pretty close to the final rankings of the previous season, even when teams graduate substantial pieces of their lineups. So, in all likelihood, BYU will be a top 10 ranked team.
BYU loses RJP, who was phenomenal, but hopefully regains a healthy McKenna Miller, as well as a healthy 6'7" Opp Sara Hamson. They return two fantastic MB's who will only be a sophomore and a junior, as well as AA libero, Mary Lake. And they are bringing in three OH's and an Opp, in addition to 3 littles in next year's recruiting class, per Rich Kern. The recruiting class includes #22 Senior Ace, Kate Grimmer, 6-1 RS, and #89 Senior Ace, Erin Anderson, 6-2 OH.
The biggest question mark may be replacing the loss of their AA 3-year setter, Lyndie Haddock-Eppich, though BYU has been solid even in past years when their setting was average. Kiani Moea'i should be a 5th year senior next fall? Despite being the #2 recruit from the state of Hawaii in 2015, she's only managed to accumulate 5 assists in three years. 5'8" freshman Tyler Tausinga served, but only got into matches for 8 assists this season. 5'8 is pretty undersized unless they go with a 6-2. Perhaps there is another recruit or a setter transfer in the wings?

How good will BYU be for 2019? Will they be pre-season ranked top 10? When BYU played for the title in 2013, they were ranked 9th in the 2014 pre-season poll. So, hard to tell. bayarea gives a great synopsis. Wondering if they play a 6-2 next year. Lots of questions, for sure.
