My daughter reffed in Spokane this weekend. She reffed a team from Boise in the semi finals. Coach was the former BYU great Gayle Bowers (Osborne). 3 girls on that team are coming to BYU in 2020. My daughter was very impressed with all of them.

Do you mean Gayle Osborne Johnson or Caroline Steuer Bower? The setter, the Bower girl is a lefty setter and the RS lefty is around 6'4. They are both very physical. I watched them at the Idaho state tourney last and liked both of them. I didnt know there was a third Idaho kid going to BYU.

That Idaho Crush club really came out of nowhere in the last 5 years to produce some excellent D1 athletes. (Idaho has not historically been a hotbed of volleyball talent.) According to their website, Caroline Steuer Bower is the club director and coach of the 17's team, which has her daughter, Whitney Bower, a 2020 5'9" setter recruit for BYU. That team also has Makayla Tolman, a 2020 6'3" Opp recruit for BYU. The third player being referred to probably is Morgan Bower, who is a 2019 L recruit for BYU, and a UA All-American 2nd team pick. Both of the Bower sisters committed to BYU back in 2017.

Accoeding to their social media, Univ. of Utah also had two freshman that played for Idaho Crush, Megan Yett (OH) and Kennedy Evans (MB). Good to see former BYU players coaching. Another former BYU player Joaquin Acosta is also sending BYU a player, his club is A4, I think. Thats a very good sign for the future.

The high school team of the Bower sisters, Skyview High School in Nampa, featured three Bower sisters this last year, Morgan, 5-6 senior libero, Whitney, 5-9 junior setter, and Eden, a 6-2 freshman OH. There are seven Bower sisters and they all play volleyball. Would it be some kind of record if seven sisters played for the same university at different times?

I watched Skyview last year when the state tourney was in east Idaho. My recollection was the setter Bower sister, the lefty, had a nasty left handed top spin and was pretty good on the pin too. They had no real competition so it was hard to know how good she really was.
Anyone know if David Hyte applied for the Idaho State head job that recently opened. I really believe he deserved alot of credit for the success that Idaho State had when he was here.
