Found another 2023 player that looks interesting. Thoughts? Word is she’s being recruited by some top schools as a Libero. Also side note, the setter and MB from this same team are studs! Do you know what schools are recruiting her/what schools she’s interested in?

interesting...I know she has possibly the best ball control in the class but she’s a phenomenal hitter... where’d you hear this? Word is she’s being recruited by some top schools as a Libero. Also side note, the setter and MB from this same team are studs! That Mizuno team is basically the Redondo Union team...they are very strong. We played them a couple times in High School ball and even with losing seniors, they will remain strong. MCB is a freshman, so Redondo and Mizuno have a great one for years. Not sure if anyone got her to commit prior to rules change.

We probably would have heard if she did commit. Hopefully she is one of the smarter ones and decides to wait. I’m not a big fan of early commits. SO much can happen in one year, let alone 3-4. interesting...I know she has possibly the best ball control in the class but she’s a phenomenal hitter... where’d you hear this? Just got back from American Sports Center (ASC) in Anaheim. Today was mandatory #3 for 15s in the SCVA. The top teams were all there and got to see lots of 2023 talent.
Obviously the two big names from a program perspective at Wave and TStreet. They were the 1's on court A1 and A2 respectively. Got to watch them both a bit. They are both really strong. Wave plays a faster, more interesting offense. Lot's of quick sets, slides, etc. Their setter (Quill?) is just great. Jump sets every play with amazing balance and stability in the air. She has great placement. Height...not so much, but just amazing to watch her go.
TStreet also looked good. They are just big, tall, long girls at every position. Pretty much top to bottom these kids can play. In terms of stand-outs? Smith at middle had some great plays. Their outsides all hit really well. Opposites put up strong blocks.
Which team is better? I would like to pick Wave because I appreciate the offensive speed and complexity...but TStreet is just powerfull. Toss up until they play...which won't be too long, I am sure.
Next level teams are teams like Coast, Mizuno and A4. A4 also had a very strong setter...she had decent height. Didn't get a name.
Anyhow...some real talent in that building.

In M1 crossovers/playoffs will start and this will get interesting.

Do you know what schools are recruiting her/what schools she’s interested in? Mele - Stanford Faumuina - UCLA/USC/Stanford/Oregon McGennis (sp?) - USC According to club whispers Mele is Stanford bound. Faumuina and McGennis will most likely end up at SC. Faumuina is interfering as she sets and hits at an elite level. I guess which position she moves forward with will determine her choice of school to fulfill their needs.

She looks more like 5'11. Gonna have to start learning to jump to play in the big leagues though.

A couple of non-west coast girls to watch for
Chloe Chicoine - Circle City 16 Purple. Undersized at 5'9 but jumps 30 inches. Extremely intelligent hitter, has played up an age for the past 2 years once she moved to CC and played 6-ro both years. Ava TeStrake - switched from Dynasty to KC Power this year. 6'4 outside Already mentioned but not enough, Harper Murray - Legacy. Has grown tremendously both in size and in maturity since I first saw her at 12's. Brooklyn Deleye - Topeka Impact 15-1 Named to multiple all everything state lists following her freshman HS season. Ella Swindle - KC Power 15-1. great poise for a freshman setter Ashley Sturzoiu - A5 15 Bob outside. You notice her immediately when you see her on the court. Game is very similar to Chicoine's Skylar Bump - Far Out 15black. Frustrating setter who knows precisely when to dump and has great court vision. Led her HS team to state as a starter losing in the final match. Will probably be penalized for only being 5'6

Chloe is a STUD and HAMMERS the ball for sure!! Ran into some trouble with big blockers last year which is why I think they move her around a lot but she is a defensive monster so she may be thinking back row only for the next level. I think her club team has her listed as OH/DS. Either way she’s SO fun to watch! Ella Swindle was also on the USA roster for 36 Athletes that went to Colorado Springs in December.
