Good pickup for Ohio State. Interesting to see how she continues to improve after Illinois high school volleyball totally evaporated last year due to COVID. Egan was on that Sterling team with Lexi Rodriguez and the Borum sisters. IHSA had a 7 week HS season between early March - end of April. No state tourney but many played 3-4 matches each week so it did not evaporate completely. It did however screw up the club season as the girls came back exhausted after playing that many games including practices.

Is she trying to dual-sport? She's like Maggie Mendelson, she's really good at hoop.

It will look like they will have top 5 recruits benched for at least 2 years. That's not a bad problem.

Alright, over/under of how many Nebraska players transfer between now and 2024 The 2021 "dream team" with an elite S, L, OH, OH, OPP, and MB in 2021, another "dream team" with an elite S, OH, MB, OPP two years later, and flutter in another elite OH and MB in between that. good gracious. These athletes won't even have time to market themselves for that NIL money, they gotta figure out who the heck is even going to play! #Jealous

Alright, big names are being taken off the board but there is still A LOT of big time talent left in this class.

One heck of a bench.

Family and friends already in the area and likely attending the U outside of volleyball goes along way into keeping players happy.

Congrats to the Huskers for the amount of recruiting process. They at least have one high caliber playing leaving each year, not essentially a top 10 recruit but TOP 150 BUT it could happen in the near future.

Recruiting offer question: I heard from a friend that her daughter was offered a 4 year scholarship from a power 5 school. This player found out from several other players at the NTDP camp that others of her position also received what they think are the same scholarship. My friend's daughter was not told that others were offered. What are the "requirements" of an offer? I would think that it would be ethical to tell the recruits that others were offered. What if she wanted to accept but another accepted 1 day earlier? Evidently there were 3 girls offered for the same position and none of them knew.

I don’t know about many other programs, but every scholarship player Nebraska brings in has spent their volleyball life not only playing full time on their teams, but was the best player on their teams and one of the best players in their state. They come to Nebraska expecting to play. . . They have never been on a volleyball team in their lives where they were not good enough to play. . . But here it happens. Sami Slaughter certainly thought she would play…but she didn’t. Anezka Szabo Certainly thought she would play…but she didn’t. I guess they could have stayed at Nebraska and been great teammates and practice players, I guess Cook and his staff could have told Sami and Anezka that they were getting better and they could eventually play, but they wanted to play in actual matches immediately…so they transferred (South Dakota and Kansas) and are now playing, starting for their new teams. Nebraska fans are happy for these kids. I hope all of these kids come to Lincoln, have great careers, and graduate. . . But that is probably not possible because only 6 players can be on a volleyball court at a time, and at least 6 more on the team who want, expect…to be on that court. And now there are no longer any real barriers to transfer. And that is where we are. . .

I don’t know if there are any “requirements” when it comes to offers. As someone earlier posted, if she was offered and not given an indication that there were other girls offered; she may not be their first choice. Also it’s up to the potential recruit to do her due diligence and ask the school if they are looking at other possibilities.

We all hope they do will. They're just young ladies figuring it out even before knowing a lot. Nebraska offers a lot. However, when you have like 6 or 7 top 5 caliber players that you split up the attention of all the husker nation and play time. It's inevitable it will happen. I don't know where they will end up though.
