Glad Cal took advantage of their opportunity to prove themselves with a nice win over LB.
Maybe what we’re seeing is a little more parity in beach as more players are training “beach only” earlier and even the programs who had very little beach talent a few years back are pretty decent now.
With the exception of UCLA and maybe USC I think the field has leveled off.

I agree about USC and UCLA being the top schools for beach players right now. I am surprised that a Florida school isn't pushing either more. Hawaii has a great offering for beach players, until they realize they're actually on an island. That world becomes pretty small in rapid order. Someone will come along and have a great season, knocking the So Cal schools off the perch, but at least for a while, Trojans and Bruins are running the show.

I agree with your Hawaii comment and the original post about USC and UCLA being the elite of the field. I would say top recruits that get immediate playing time would like it there (Hawaii) but for everyone else who has to wait for their shot might have a miserable time (we all have a choice on the type of experience we'll have). Hawaii is probably better of recruiting Grad students with some beach experience.
I think it's a toss up for top recruits (from mid to south areas) when choosing schools. 3 of the top 5 are from Cali, 5 of the top 10 from California, and 3 from Florida.

#5 Pepperdine vs. #7 Cal Poly1: Dyer/Bauer v Peranich/Manley 2: Kraft/Hernandez v Wright/Lombard 3: Caputo/Filippone v Roscoe/Gruenewald 4: Lyons/Dilfer v Gordon/Sonny 5: Priebe/Gavin v (!) Miric/Jones (!) I'm watching the P1440 feed and Cal Poly seems to be running their regular lineup and that listing is completely reversed (watching Sonny/Gordon on court 2 right now)
