So Game of Thrones Final Season is about to premiere on HBO. What are you expectations on it? Who will live or die? And once it has aired, how did you think of the episode?

I worry about too much screen time with CGI-generated ice zombie fights. I'm more interested in who, among the living, is doing what, to whom.
Thanks for starting the thread.

Yes, but the show has done an excellent job in character development imo for the whole series and I expect that they will will hold to the attraction of the interpersonal relationships. That is the strength of the series

That is the strength of the series I didn't say they hadn't done an exceptional job of character development. I agree with you. I would have thought that my stated preference for interpersonal interaction made that clear. I do not enjoy the extended CGI zombie fights--like when we saw Hodor's demise, the debacle at Hard Home, or the turning of the dragon. Troll someone else.

I just dont think we will see the emphasis on the CGI.....and like you I hope Im right. My point was....that was misunderstood....was that the show has been pretty consistent to stay in the lane of the character interplay more than not.

My sensitivities were on too high a setting.

I have never watched an episode. I understand the hysteria.
I will wait to binge them at a later time.

It's one of the few TV series these days I have time to watch. Speaking of too much zombies, that is an interesting shift in Game of Thrones. The earlier seasons focused more on the political intrigue, backstabbing and power plays between the various families, there weren't that much focus on the actual fantasy elements. Sure, the magical aspects of the world was shown every now and then (and not forgetting the gratuitious nudity that seem to appear in every 5 minutes in the show of course), but the primary story was always who would sit on the Iron Throne. But as most of those characters are killed off (i.e. Tywin Lannister and of course Little Finger), the focus has shifted more and more to the epic fantasy element with the mass battles and dragons. Whether that is good or bad, it is the way the last few seasons has gone.

It was always supposed to be about the dragons and the ice zombies -- everything else was just set-up. I would blame HBO on the nekid people every five minutes, but there is a lot of that stuff in the books too.

He probably meant renting the actual physical DVDs which you can do via Netflix -- or a company owned by Netflix.
