He is pretty much shoo-in to the Dutch NT. He may even start given the quality of their roster. He tried out for the National Team before the start of the season said he didn't make it. Is this a sure thing? It was a huge step up in performance for him this year compared to last. It was mentioned by the commentators during the championship match. I think SVT leaves for the Netherlands today.

Mike Dodd is well spoken, and he's knowledgeable and occasionally funny, even if the jokes are a little obvious. All ingredients necessary for a good commentator. And the way he always speaks highly of good players is worth tuning in.

Micah Ma'a, Joe Worsley, Stijn Van Tilburg, Dylan Missry, David Wieczorek : Good athletes, bad timing. Micah Ma'a, joe Worsley, Stijn Van Tilburg, Dylan Missry, David Wieczorek : No underachievers, just victims of great DeFalco era. DeFalco deserves a lot of credit for his performance but I believe the ultimate difference makers was Coach Alan Knipe. Knipe demonstrates coaching vs managing players. Making small adjustments and understanding different situations better than Wade. Worsley could have also very well started his sophomore year over Jennings as he demonstrated his ability consistently which could have given the team more time like Ensing, Josh, and DeFalco. Hawaii worked on its triple block for the Big West Championshop. I did like (or hate!) the way Knipe countered in the NCAAs by going with soft shots over the triple block. Seems like it caught Hawaii off guard and they couldn't adjust - when two or three points could win a set.

Knipe is lucky those two eightth grader wonders and bffs walked into his club gym that one day. I would not call him a good coach and neither would the 2012 olympians I bet.

Other coaches knew this had a high probability of happening when Long Beach signed this class back in fall 2014. If I would criticize Wade it’s probably for not redshirting Worsley,Rosenmier and Solbrig their first year. Not sure about redshirting Joe as a freshman...didn't he start the second half of the season over Jennings?

Next year's NC match will again be held at the Walter Pyramid, here's hoping the returning Warriors: Rado, Cowell, Gage, and Gasman along with foreign national team players: Thelle, Humler and the new MH will make another run at the NC. Congratulations and good luck to seniors: Joe, Stijn, Dalton and Brett as well as to the 49er senior class. Welcome new Warrior hitters: Chaz, Dimi, and Garrett and the MH who is playing for Brazil.

That's incorrect. The 2020 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championships will be held at the home arena of George Mason University.

Thanks for the correction, it is indeed at George Mason U. How do these sites get determined, is it a bid process?

Thanks for the correction, it is indeed at George Mason U. How do these sites get determined, is it a bid process? The NCAA Men's Volleyball Selection Committees normally accepts bids for host sites in 4 year increments. In 2018, the NCAA Men's Volleyball Selection Committee accepted bids for the 2019 through 2022 Men's Volleyball Championships. The four universities chosen to host were the following: 2019 Long Beach State University; 2020 George Mason University; 2021 The Ohio State University; 2022 UCLA. Like other NCAA sanctioned sports, member institutions participating in Men's Volleyball can submit a bid and the committee will determine which schools will be granted the award. In 2021, the NCAA Men's Volleyball Selection Committee will determine sites for the 2023 through 2026 seasons.

That's what I recall, it was odd seeing Jennings on the sidelines for several matches, the timing of Joe's elevation to starter seems about right.

No way the NCAA Men's Volleyball Selection Committee can say, SSC is to small an arena to hold event. Not after hold it at the Pyramid which is quite a small arena.
