Here is the interview Kevin Wong did with Julia Scoles, such a great person overall. She mentions what has been mentioned on the board previously about potentially playing else where for at least one more season. The grad program she wants aren't offered at UH so that is a bummer but I wish we could have sent Julia off the right way. Hopefully she isn't on the other side of the net from us in any crucial matches.

Hopefully she isn't on the other side of the net from us in any crucial matches. I think the part that was funny was when she was describing her parents' knowledge of volleyball. She said she feels her parents should know volleyball a lot more than they do given that they've been following her entire career and watching her play every single match. She said, "They still don't know what's going on. They're like, 'Julia, what happened here, what happened there?' and I'm like, 'You watch the same thing every damn time!' *laughing*" This is so true. On the other hand, unless you're a real student of the game, merely observing something doesn't give you insight into said something.

No one uses last names these days? Her last name “Ali” is too long to spell so everyone just call her Amirah. ;-)

I was suspecting this but sad to hear it’s true. Good luck to her!

So now we just wait for Morgan Martin I suspect she's just waiting for whatever happens with the AVP. With life/jobs/society on hold, a lot of athletes are looking to come back. It's possible we pick up some transfers too.

With Julia not coming back and Morgan Martin unsure, maybe AO feels this would be a rebuilding year and is looking for someplace where she can win right away.
UH will be losing a lot up firepower from the upper flights so it will be a season of ups and downs. Going to have to count on the sophomore trio of sandbows in Pani, Iluhia, and Maia along with indoor players BVS and Hanna Hellvig to carry the team. This team will be very young. Hope girls like Anna Maidment and Sabrina Hardisty can pick up their games and Jolie Rasmussen is finally 100% healthy.
The 5 newcomers have potential but are untested.

They'll still likely be in the mix, just probably out in the Top 4.
Amy Ozee has been on the islands her whole life, why not spend a year on the mainland (with some financial help) seeing what life has to offer there? I wonder if she also has an interest in indoor?
