Maple/Kraft into the quarterfinals in Guam 1* Well, I guess it makes sense to look to next year now that the current 1s pair is 0-3 in Pac-12 play. 😒 I think Hallgren/Harward will get there. They actually looked really good today. Just lacking a little bit of chemistry at key moments. You have to remember they’ve only been playing together since January, so they need some time to work out the kinks.... The team that I found more concerning today was the 2’s. They looked dreadful.

Then I assume Kraft/Maple at 2 if they don't split them up, assuming they beat out the Nourse twins.

USC is going to be terrifying next year. I think so. They would likely go undefeated or at most one loss, if they play their starters, and don't have an injury at 1s or 2s. I suggested about four months ago that perhaps Graudina would not return after the Olympics to play NCAA ball, that she might just go pro, but another poster who claims to know her mind said she is absolutely coming back and getting her degree, which means she will play.

Hey Trojan fans, was wondering a few things about the struggles USC is having. Most interesting to me is an analysis of the top pair from anyone who's seem them play in person. Who is getting served? Any offensive limitations to either player? Defensive limitations? In other words, is there some hole you see in their game individually that is concerning, or would you prefer the lack of success on something else?
Thanks

Thanks They honestly have all the makings of a solid team. They looked brilliant in the second set. Haley Hallgren is getting served. She did pretty well today tho.... She’s switching sides and positions from last year so I am thinking she is just getting acclimated and will improve a lot over the next few weeks. Harward looked really quick. She’ll start getting more digs by the end of the year.... They are going to be really good by the end of the year, they just are lacking a bit of chemistry right now IMO.

Does anyone know why Molly Davis is not playing. Is she redshirting because she originally attended Pepperdine? Anyone know her status?

She transferred from the University of Texas where she was not playing any sports, so I figure she's just beginning to get back in the swing of things. Her sister Bonnie, 2021, is headed to UCLA.

Maple/Kraft into the quarterfinals in Guam 1* There are very few players there, next to no one. Looks like only Quam teams and literally no difficult competition. I think they only played one game to get there because a Quam team foreited. Not like last year when everyone was scrambling for points in the 1*'s. Teams are also not going due to the coronavirus.

Wondering why Blanton doesn't have Halgren and Slater together. It appears that Harward is struggling a bit?

After watching USC play today, does anyone think Dain would explore pairing Hallgren/Slater at ones, moving Nourse twins up to two, and putting Harward/Doig to 3s? Or would that be too much movement.... Also, big props to Joy Dennis today. Hopefully, she continues proving naysayers wrong.

Completely agree. Harward played 4's at Long Beach and she is more than struggling, especially today from what I could see in the live stream. She is a strong player but that is yet to be seen. Looking at her stats, she has not really won much and how was she put up as a pre All-American? That is unfair to the players who have performed. Slater is very strong and Doig is struggling badly. Doig has been non-existent in volleyball or the past 2 years and many issues. Agree, Dennis looked very good!
