Penn State losing is most definitely the upset match. Like I said in my earlier posts, but I was accused of trolling, Hawaii was hidden by the committee in Green Bay, the weakess region. They gave them the suress path to the Final Four and they just couldn't get it done. And the thread holding those accountable - was nothing more then dust being stirred up in the chicken coup, like the Wahine fans didn't like being put at #3 when they were the #1 team in the nation, was a joke. Hawaii losing to a #22 ranked team with a 21-9 overall record and 13-7 record, shows that the Wahines were paper champions, and showed that they were suspect as most people thought, even to their own fans, if some of you wish to read those posts. Wisconsin exposed the Emperor had no clothes. The Wahines could run but they just couldn't hide. Oh, to those of you that think I am trolling, I am not, so get a life. I have better things to do with my time. Such as telling it, like it is. I realize that I am in Wahine country, but the truth is the truth. No Brag - Just Fact (Amos McCoy) Jumper40 The Magnificent

You must be from some alternate dimension. I think it's the Dimension of Dork. And I think all y'all spend way too much time there. Hey Walleye Lips - you should change your name to Gorfstar Runner.

I have to think UCLA's upset of Penn State was the bigger upset. Wisconsin's win was an upset win but I think less people gave UCLA a chance of beating the Big 10 champion.

It cracks me up that people are saying that the Wisconsin upset was a bigger upset than UCLA over Penn St. Hawaii fans had faith in Na Wahine, but tons of people on this board were saying how they'd lose in the first two rounds. For the last month, this board has been littered (and I mean littered, as in trash) with threads talking about how the Wahine didn't deserve to be number 1, didn't play a hard enough schedule, didn't play well on the road. Now that you naysayers have finally received your wish, a Wahine loss, now its considered a bigger upset than the loss of the Big-10 Champion (the strongest conference, right?) in the same round by a team (UCLA) that has been hammered by just about everyone on this board all season. You guys make me laugh...... But Hawaii caught all the breaks in the NCAAs. I don't think anyone was saying Colorado, Purdue or Wisconsin were better teams than Hawaii. All we ever wanted was for Hawaii to play a top ten team on the road or on a neutral court so we could get a better idea how good they are. Not going to happen now. I do agree UCLA win was the bigger upset. I think UCLA had two huge advantages: better matches to prepare them for the PSU match AND a better travel situation.

I THINK that the Wisconsin win was the upset because I wanted Hawaii to win.
I don't think that the UCLA win was an upset because I picked them to win anyway.
So there. (Jumper40 logic, telling it "honestly, how it is, the truth is the truth, no brag just facts.")
By the By, J40, denial is the first phase of dealing with "stressful situations." You are a troll. Say it with me. Jumper40 is a troll. Jumper40 is a troll. Jumper40 lives under a bridge.

Stay with me here, IB. I know they got screwed on having to go to CSU. But Purdue's win over CSU was a major break. Then they were pretty much assured Wisconsin or Notre Dame in round 3, which could have been MUCH WORSE. Then they had a good group of teams coming from Stanford-Florida-Texas, but they were playing each other.
Hawaii had a VERY good path to the finals. Much better than say playing Minnesota in Minneapolis or Washington in Seattle. Even OSU or USC would have been tougher matches than the winner of Stanford-Florida-Texas (imho).
To summarize:
Hawaii not playing rounds 1 and 2 at home? BAD. Hawaii's bracket? VERY winnable.

Yes, and yes. I agree, it was a decent draw, but it wasn't the same level as the other top seeds drew!
Granted, Purdue over CSU was a HUGE upset, but ALL of the teams in that Region were very very formidable opponents. Unlike what we saw for the OTHER 1 seeds. Hawaii had to face 3-straight formidable opponents plus be shipped over 15,000 miles to get to Wisconsin, plus 3-40+ degree weather changes plus 3 major altitude changes, when it should not have been so many obstacles for a top seeded team.
The Selection Committee's requirements are outdated and simply wrong to make any 1 seed beat themselves up before the round of 16, which is what happened with Hawaii.
nut and bolts, they got screwed because of geographical bias.

Talk about another team that got screwed!
Stanford, has been playing very well (at least they got sent to WARM weather on their 5000 mile detour/shafting).

Fine, if you do. But I sure don't.
I also think OSU and USC are better teams than Stanford, but whatever.

Stanford not having a gym is not the fault of the Committee.

The Stanford team I watched yesterday looked very good, especially Nnamani. Not the Stanford team that swept the Longhorns yesterday, remember I watched the match.
