No worries. It just took a bit for Carlini to recover from the shock of the price of a steak in Moscow.

Does anyone have a link for Fener vs. whoever they're playing right now? Twas a yawn fest. They played LKS Commercecon Łódź and completely outplayed them. They wrapped up the match in a little over an hour.

CEV Champions League Week #2 Review 2020
The advance to the quarterfinals will include the five Pool winners and the next three highest ranked teams. ECZ leads pool A with a five-set win over Fenerbache. In that match Bosko hit 36% and +14, Natalia hit 31% and +13, but Kim underperformed hitting 15% and +0. For Fenerbache it was Krob, 25% and +2, Vargas, 23% and +10, Milhjlovic, 14% and +0, and Erdem, 31% and +5. Bosko ruled the fifth set and Fener did not have an OOS answer.
In pool B Scandicci after a slow start in the Italian league upset Vakif 3-2. Bricio, just recovering from her shoulder injury, led the 5th set. Stysiak was solid, Pietrini struggled. Kakolewska and Stevanovic were strong in the middle. Vakif was led by Gabi, Haak and Rasic but Guidetti’s determination to switch Karakurt to OH had a setback. She struggled badly -4 for the match and still rides a wild emotional rollercoaster. Scandicci was dismemebered by Imoco the next week in Italy but was able to regroup in time to defeat Kalingrad, one of the current leaders in the Russian league, led by Voronkova. In that match Pietrini had a breakout performance +14 that included 7 blocks. Although she left Italy early during the VNL her improved passing has her on track to be a starter in Tokyo.
Pool C is a toss up with Novara losing to Stuttgart 3-1. Brakocevic is still out of form returning from injury. The loss of MBH and Egonu is clearly felt although Megan Courtney had a solid performance. Free from the serve-Nazi, Hancock has powered up one of her strongest weapons.
Pool D, Conegliano, enough said although Nantes, the #2 team in France is 2-0 going into their next match against Imoco. LVW, Linsey Vander Weide, Oregon, had a break out game in round 2. I think she bears watching as a possible invite to USNT training this summer as a challenge to Foecke.
Pool E is led by Moscow, Carlini, Scherban, and Goncharova. Although favored in the Russian league they are off to a 1-4 start so their CL performance is encouraging. Pool play has exposed some team weaknesses but also served up a look at what we will see in next weeks CWC in China.

Man. Has anyone seen how lopsided the CEV cup is this year? I wish I understood a bit more about how they are ranked and how seeded teams are determined.
The bottom half of the 8th finals round is stupid stacked. The top half is embarrassingly weak since Chemik Police knocked out Galatasaray and C.S.M. Bucuresti forfeited to Volero Le Cannet.
How the hell is Busto Arsizio NOT seeded after winning this same competition last year?
Basically who ever makes it out of the bottom half of the bracket should win the title.

Her sophomore year I posted she had legit potential to be on the NT and everyone thought I was being a homer. Of course everyone judged her on stats junior and senior year which reflect the setting more than her.

Carlini's at best a C team setter, which is still an upgrade from Lloyd who was G or H team.

Does that say something about the CEV or is it more an issue with the various pro leagues in Europe?

Lindsay Vander Weide, LVW from Oregon, had another solid outing at OH for Nantes as they defeated Budapest 3-1. They now stand 2-1 in pool D with a real shot at moving on to the Elite 8. Lindsay, LVW's, numbers: Attack: 12-1-4-36 (Kill-error-blocked-attempts) Block 1 Recept: 14-0 64% and 14% (received-errors-Pos-Exc) W/L: +11 (points scored minus errors) LVW is in her rookie pro season and Nantes. www.facebook.com/VolleyBallNantesPro?ref=bookmarks
