www.cev.eu/News.aspx?NewsID=30512&ID=5CEV announces re-scheduling of matches postponed due to coronavirus News from the CEV Luxembourg, March 6, 2020. The CEV has been liaising intensively with all relevant parties, reviewing the decisions made by the national authorities of a number of countries and unifying them according to its Regulatory Framework. As a result, with the health and well-being of athletes, officials and fans as its primary concern, the CEV can confirm the re-scheduling of the matches postponed earlier this month due the escalation of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Europe. Through the much-appreciated help offered by the club of OK Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR and the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia, a number of matches will be taking place at Sportna Dvorana Ljudski Vrt in Maribor, Slovenia, according to the following programme: • March 13: Match No. 5-003 TRENTINO Itas (ITA) vs. JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel (POL) • March 14: Match No. 5-004 JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel (POL) vs. TRENTINO Itas (ITA) • March 18: Match No. 5-301 Fenerbahce Opet ISTANBUL (TUR) vs. Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA (ITA) • March 18: Match No. 5-305 Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI (ITA) vs. Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL (TUR) • March 19: Match No. 5-302 Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA (ITA) vs. Fenerbahce Opet ISTANBUL (TUR) • March 19: Match No. 5-306 Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL (TUR) vs. Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI (ITA) Moreover, all involved parties have agreed to cancel the match 5-308 A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO (ITA) vs Allianz MTV STUTTGART (GER). As winners of the match 5-307 played earlier this week in Germany (3-0), the team of A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO has qualified to the semi-finals of the CEV Champions League Volley 2020. All other Champions League matches will go ahead as planned – with those due to take place in Perugia and Civitanova both closed to the public in order to comply with the measures adopted by Italian authorities for the holding of public events. The CEV Cup 2020 – Women quarterfinal fixture 4-408 between Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO (ITA) and Dinamo KAZAN (RUS) scheduled for earlier this week will be taking place in Busto Arsizio on March 11 behind closed doors. As for the CEV Cup quarterfinal fixture 4-108 between Leo Shoes MODENA and GFC AJACCIO initially due to take place on March 4, the two parties have agreed to cancel the match 4-108 and to regard the result of the match 4-107 played in Ajaccio on February 26 as the one determining the team progressing to the semi-final stage of the competition. As a result, by virtue of their 3-0 victory in Ajaccio, the team of Leo Shoes MODENA have qualified to the semis of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2020 – Men. The CEV acknowledge that the Volleyball family is dealing with difficult times, but invites all parties to stick together as members of one team in order to manage this situation by displaying a sense of cooperation and solidarity. Just to clarify, are all these matches being played without a regular audience in the stands or just the ones in Perugia and Civitanova? I know some soccer matches in the Italian Series A are played to an empty stadium.

can you describe the photo? They all basically did a team photo of them covering their mouths as if they were all sick with the virus. Humor is a way to relieve stress. Appears to have worked here.

Ironically, I think this is a much better (and more fair) system, even if completely ad hoc and only due to emergency. On neutral court, on back-to-back days, rather than week apart. It will more accurately reflect who is the stronger team.

You're welcome for reaffirming your antiquated views of looking at the "new world". And to be fair, it's not really the jack*asses' who post like Conegliano did fault. In your "old world", they wouldn't have had the social media exposure to show the world their insensitivity/idiocy. In the "old world", someone would've told Jack & Sally to sit the f*ck down before they showcase their behinds to the world. We can thank Gen. X for inventing social media for Millenials and then failing to parent them & Gen. Z properly in the "new world" they provided them.

Just saw we are talking about the same thing...... we are talking about a team with their hands over their mouths posing for a photo. You automatically assume they are mocking this whole covid19 epidemic.... they are "jackasses". I see a lot of young women trying to find some humor in a difficult situation. You realize that often people use humor to diffuse their own anxiety and fears right?
So, I guess in your "new world", we can not make light of ANYTHING that someone may find offensive. We need to stop asking people to bottle up all their silliness, fun, anxiety, fear, etc all in the name of offending a handful of people. Flu jokes.... nope, some people die. Fast driving jokes.... nope, people get killed. How far do we take this?

Fast driving jokes.... nope, people get killed. How far do we take this? No. It's not just a bunch of young women in a difficult situation (which, as healthy able-bodied youngsters who are not particularly susceptible to the dangers of the coronavirus, is also difficult to comprehend what "humor" they're attempting here). The group you're describing would be a bunch of relative nobodies who don't hold as many responsibilities for their behavior. The actual group of young women here are professional athletes, which as volleyball fans we always gripe about not receiving the level of attention as other mainstream sports and yet you're apparently unwilling to hold our athletes to the role model standard they SHOULD be responsible for if we do want the sport to grow to a noteworthy level. Also, nobody here is calling for those women to be fired or even fined, at most just please make more responsible choices. Your outrage is misplaced.

I have no outrage here. I'm more perplexed by yours. I admit the photo is silly and dumb, but I take no offense by it. I see a bunch of young women, mostly in their 20s being silly. A dumb photo isn't going to impact the growth of volleyball.
My goodness, we have President who openly mocks disabled folks. I'm rather bored by this "condemnation" culture.

i'm glad to live in usa where free speech still rules 99%. being protected from expression you may disagree with only makes you weaker as you are not challenged about what you think and believe & thus unprepared to disagree without resorting to shaming/name calling/threats etc. & not confident enough to ignore those you find disagreeable. safe spaces are for the insecure & promoted by those who wish to keep them so in order that their conformist propaganda will work.

So the Italian League is cancelled. Will Champions League be next? Surprisingly there hasn't been any cases of COVID-19 in Turkey.......yet. They are the only teams not affected at the moment.

Slovenia is expected to close its borders with Italy. CL will most likely be cancelled as well.
