If Madi is healthy enough to play in the Spring, and Maula and/or Parra join the team in January, then we don't need another pin hitter on the roster for Spring 2021. What we do need is a backup setter; so, hopefully a completely healthy Cabello can fill that role. Regardless, I don't think we'll have an open 'ship for a transfer in January.
Honest question, will Maula and Parra be eligible to play in the spring? Yes according to the NCAA

Honest question, will Maula and Parra be eligible to play in the spring? Yes according to the NCAA I thought someone mentioned if they were eligible in the fall and didn't attend classes, they weren't eligible for the spring. But who knows, things have been changing a lot.

I'm watching Singletary's Hudl and I must say and it may not be a popular opinion but I really do think she has the potential to be better than Butler and that's saying alot. Hear me out.... She is currently playing 6 rotations in high school and at times she looks like a natural outside which is good. Sometimes you can tell right away when a middle is converted to an outside and that is not the case with her. I do think she will be strictly a MB at Texas because her middle attack I would say is better than where Butler was at that age. She does have a quick arm swing just like Butler and she is set the exact same way Butler is right now with the what I call "go get it set". which is great to have in a middle and she is very athletic, mobile and has great footwork for the most part.
Their season ended last week and her team lost the state championship in 5 sets where she posted 29 kills😬. She averaged 5.2 K/S and hit .358 on the season with 311 kills in 60 sets. I do think the most challenging part for her will be blocking. She does not have good technique at the moment but I am sure that's going to come as she really starts to learn the game. She only had 43 total blocks and 9 solo which should be much higher considering how tall she is.

From what I saw of her in club ball last season, I’d also like to see her have a little more of a poker face when she makes an error.

Yes according to the NCAA I thought someone mentioned if they were eligible in the fall and didn't attend classes, they weren't eligible for the spring. But who knows, things have been changing a lot. NCAA just recently clairified this situation. A 2020 recruit who had signed for the 20-21 academic year (Parra and Mulaul) is eligible to play in the spring if they were unable to attend classes in the fall. The intent of their previous ruling was to prohibit 2021 recruits (current high school seniors) from enrolling early and playing in the spring.

Potential is there, but I think Butler looked more impressive at this stage in their careers.

So, no 2021 (public) commitments. Going to be a quiet signing day....unless some walkon DS announces.
After today, will be modifying this thread title to 2022 only.
Also, updated Page 1 with status of players signed/figure

No. However I would suspect that Elliott has had some conversation with the 2021 seniors about returning in 2022 since it would impact recruiting.

I honestly hope our recent great NCAA run will replace great players like Butler and Eggleston. Yes, we do have great players already after they leave but how do you replace future Team USA player caliber? Are we on Hawaiian Top Player Devon's top 5?
