Some interesting news in regards to recruiting and the future of players. I attended the Point Texas room where Jerritt made an appearance. I think he usually shows up twice a year. Eric Sullivan NEVER attends (must be written in his contract).
1. Confirmed that Bri and Sydney are going to be classified as seniors. What this means is this is definitely their last year at Texas, even though both of them each have a Covid bonus year
2. Was told by Molly Phillips just today that she'll be coming back for her next TWO YEARS
3. Was asked "Transfer portal, what can you say about that?" Jerritt hesitated for half a second and then said yes that Cobello was in the portal, but has rejoined the team for the rest of the year. They're working on helping her find a school as well as giving her additional "setter help" in practices, whatever that means
4. Went on to talk about the future and how NIL plays a part. Said, "If we can get some of these girls NIL deals that run in the $40,000-$50,000/year then maybe there isn't the pressure to leave and they can stay and just play volleyball"
5. When asked about future players, said he couldn't discuss them in detail or use their names. Then someone asked about setter recruiting and Jerritt said, "No, not this year. But in two years we'll have one. And she's special. Let say she's real special and I'm excited about that"
6. Said, "In fact, we have 3 recruits on their official here tonight" [Top row in denim jacket Singletary. Directly below her is Miller. Down from Miller and to her right 3 over is Halter]
As we were arriving inside the gym, the three players: Singletary, Miller, and Halter walked towards us and then past. I kicked myself for not stopping them and asking for a picture.
7. There were two very tall kids that seemed to be obvious recruits. Like freshman or sophmores, I passed during the game. They were with their parents and I saw passes in their hands.

Do you have any idea on who the recruits were

Do you have any idea on who the recruits were They would have to be 22s or 23s or from another sport if they had passes.

Since they can't be 22s (we just signed) and they can't be 23s, which we're pretty fully loaded these may have been 24s/25s.

Ooops, I forgot. So much recruiting stuff Jerritt openly talked about that Tonya refuses to even hint at:
8. He said, "And we're still pursuing a 22 recruit. She's a basketball/volleyball player. We'll see."

I’m glad Cabello is back. I would have liked to see her develop at Texas but wish her the best. Practicing in a high level gym for the next month is better for her than not practicing. Transferring is part of the game now but it doesn’t have to be bitter and good to see Texas still has her interest at heart.

They can absolutely be 22s even though they just signed. Prior to pandemic, Jerritt used to bring in his signees for their official visits during Thanksgiving weekend. We know Devin visited officially in September. We never saw anything out on social media that Emma Halter, Marianna Singletary or McKenna Miller made an official visit. Obviously, the pandemic altered/delayed many things for several months, including on-campus visits. Of the '23s, we know that Byrd, Bunton, and Swindle took their official visits in September. So, that leaves Sydney Helmers and Auburn Thomkinson. In the photo above, I thought I recognized McKenna Miller.

What I said was: a) Jerritt said there were 3 recruits on their official visits b) I talked about seeing 3 (22 recruits) together; I walked 5 feet by them c) I took pictures of 3 (22 recruits who signed) and their families and posted it here
This "official" visit is just a bonus trip paid for by UT for 22 recruits, even though they've already signed.

Perhaps I did. Someone asked who the recruits were. You replied "they can't be 2022" (I interpreted the word "can't" as meaning "not allowed"). Perhaps not sure who the poster was referring to, or who you were referring to with the word "they". Might be less confusing to refer to those 2022's who signed on Wednesday as "signees" instead of "recruits" as Jerritt is allowed to talk about signees by name. As far as I know (and you might have stated), we aren't pursuing any other 2022 recruits (unsigned) other than Maggie Mendelson. So, maybe that's what you meant by "they can't be 2022".

Okay, so yes I can understand what led to this confusion. When that question was raised as "who were they?", I thought, "Well, I pointed out the names Singletary, Miller, and Halter. So they must have been asking - who were the 2 young, recruits you saw walking around".
That's where I said they were 24/25. They were TALL, skinny, and Caucasian.

Now that Devin is joining too, can we get announcers training on how to pronounce Hawaiian last names? I've heard about 958 different versions of Saige's last name (sometimes different versions from the same announcer in the same game). Paul Sunderland is the only one who seems to have it down.

The Gregory announcer introduced Logan as Logan Eggleston. And the local LHN play-by-play guy said, "and Eggleston from Brentwood Texas"

I feel like someone tried to mention Morgan recently, and said Megan O'Brien
