I was there in person… maybe some clips or highlights will come out soon Can you describe the type of player she is OR the current/former Texas player she reminds you of most?
Does she have a heavy arm? Does she have the hops? Is she a good or average blocker?
To be honest with you, it was quite difficult for me to get a comprehensive understanding of her play when she only plays those front three rotations. On top of that, it seemed like their coach instructed their setter not to favor setting Kenna over the rest of their offense (which was average at best). Obviously spreading the offense around is key to giving your hitters a better percentage of getting through the block, but Kenna was the only player able to score consistently. It was almost obvious that she was trying to avoid setting Kenna. That being said, she absolutely has the hops. Of course not every swing was like this, but there were a few that she clearly went up and over the hands of the (pretty large) block she was up against. She does have a heavy arm, and its quick! Extremely dynamic and athletic in general, I really just don’t think she was allowed the opportunity to “carry” her team. I didn’t notice her block as exceptionally good or bad, but she did pick up a few throughout the match. I’m trying to think of a Texas player that she reminds me of, and I’m not sure I can pinpoint her. I really would’ve liked to see her pass, serve, and hit out of the back row; it seemed that the energy for her team was just absent when she was on the bench. I feel sorry for her, she happened to be on the bench when her team lost the final point and her senior year was over, I can only imagine the pain she felt. |

And of course, if the timing works out, she’d love to play both sports for the United States in 2022. For basketball, that would be the FIBA U17 World Cup. For volleyball, possible events are the 2022 U18 NORCECA Championship and the 2022 U18 Pan Am Cup. |

I imagine she has to decide pretty soon, yeah? Looks like Coach Schaefer has something really good happening over there as well, I wonder how she would fit in with the bball team?

I really expected Stanford to make it but she was probably shut down there about playing two sports. I can see this cooking down to Washington and Texas if she really wants to do both. |

Not implying anything but that comment was not meant in a positive way and that’s very clear. If you were a teen and someone random said you look 30, you’re not taking that as a compliment idc what anyone says. If that person would’ve said “she has a mature look for her age” that would be better but to just say she looks 30 is ridiculous and ignorant for the fact that person was trying to be funny at the expense of a young lady’s looks🙄 |
