Thank you.. she looks older, so what!!! Don’t take things so seriously!! Gosh you Texas fans.. Well, then, gosh, don't come to a Texas thread and make comments insulting recruits. It's you that has the problem, not Texas fans who find your comment in bad taste. Yeah, it may be in bad taste, but it also may just be an innocuous comment, meaning she just appears older to them. I know after the whole fiasco with the Texas 🏈football player who claimed to be Ron McKelvey but was actually Ron Weaver-a 30year old man, Texas fans continue to be a little touchy on the subject of the age of their recruits. But I think it might be time to just let it go. I bet most people here don’t even remember that happening. 🏐

In fact for those who are actually old enough to remember it, it is typically a source of amusement on the occasions that it is mentioned. The response in this thread also had nothing to do it with Weaver as I believe the poster wasn't even born yet when that happened.

It’s truly like clockwork on the Texas threads:
1. Non-Texas fan comes in and comments something, trying to be messy (usually the same handful of posters) 2. Texas fans respond 3. Poster then tries to gaslight everyone into thinking they were just “commenting” and not trying to get a ride out of anyone, then makes comments about Texas fans
Can y’all just start y’all’s own Texas hate thread and keep it there? Damn

I mean, that was just one of many under Tom Osborne which were tried to get swept under the rug, right?
I know you have it in your twisted mind that everything that caused the Nebraska football program to decline was Texas' fault; but, not even you can blame the violence by Husker football players against women at Nebraska on Texas.

Or Nebraska football's reliance on non-qualifiers...

Getting back to Texas’ possible recruits:
I really think Mendelson is coming to Texas! There hasn’t been a better collegiate program that produces Olympic worthy middles in the past decade than Texas - Chíaka (2021) and Rachel (2016). She’ll not only be ready to play on the National team but she will also be playing on a possible top 10 basketball team too. It’s the best of both worlds! I really hope she chooses Texas!

Looks Maggie Mendelson committed to Nebraska. I really thought it was going to be Texas since our WBB is ranked nationally just like our vball program (obvs).

It does seem like she’s more of a Vball than Bball player. And the season schedule bears that out too. Would’ve had to be a Bball coach who was really understanding with extra scholarships to devote to a non-full time player. That’s a hard sell. She seems like such a fun player and I’m excited to watch her.

Tapp & Dixon were alternates in 2020, Dixon could’ve been on the roster in 2016 but got injured. Gibbemeyer was also an alternate I believe. edit: nevermind, Gibby was never an alternate

did she sign or commit, bc there is always time for a player to deommit😉 Good question. Since the rest of the class has already signed, she could have signed. She did fly into Lincoln just to surprise the coaches and give them the good news. She had the perfect opportunity to ink the LOI. Another question is - with her signing would that vault the Nebraska recruiting class to #1 again? 5 of the 12 players on the Under 18 US team have now committed to the Huskers. Melding and molding that talent into a team will be a real challenge. Not every super star will see the court. Will any be willing to play second fiddle, waiting in the wings in case of injury, etc?

How does that work when the seasons for the sports overlap, like right now. Would she not join the basketball team until volleyball season is done?

Yeah, she’d have to stay with the VBall team until the season was over. She’d have practices and I guess maybe could get in a home game but that sure is risky.
